About

Style Desert
Par 71
Length 6917 yards
Slope 142
Rating 72.9

The Boulders Golf Club & Resort complex features two outstanding 18-hole courses. Both courses are very well maintained, and the scenery is incredible. Boulder's South Course is exactly the type of desert course people come to the Phoenix-Scottsdale resort corridor to play. A round of golf on the South kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 421 yards from the blue tees, which is quickly followed by a short par 3, measuring 150 yards from the blue tees. Things get long on the fifth hole, a 545-yard par 5, which is just a warm-up for the 11th hole, a par 5 that measures 601 yards from the blue tees. It doesn't get much easier to finish: The 18th is a par 5 that measures 513 yards from the blue tees.

No complaints about the course itself, it’s always very well maintained and very scenic

Lack of available water was crazy to us. Who doesn’t have water bottles for the carts? It’s Summer in AZ and you have limited opportunities to hydrate? Honestly we were shocked and it’s just crazy, especially at one of the higher end tracks here.

Requested water to be brought out as we had none, Marshall brought cold towels? Seriously? Nice touch but……

Great course, great shape but service was lacking from bag drop to restaurant,

Bev cart POS not working? Wrote cc info down and I’m still trying, days later to get my receipt for expense report.

Amazing layout and views

The course was a bucket list thing. It didn’t disappoint and the golf was simply awesome. The golf carts are tired and they need a major update to their GPS system. Very disappointing to see the lack of quality carts and GPS systems in those carts. The food at the the grill was a different experience. Just flat out terrible for such a high end course.

Meet the Flintstones

The South Course is one of the nicest courses in Arizona. In my top 3. Playing on a mild August day was a good value until we bought beers which were $13 each for regular size cans. The cart lady wasn’t too nice about our reaction either- like we get it lady, you don’t set the prices but $26 for two beers plus tip is nuts-o and our reactions were justified. She was old and mean. The greens were running slow, maybe an 8 but everything was in fantastic shape. Cart dudes did not help us unload our clubs at bag drop but just watched us lol. We are middle-age successful guys, dressed as we should be rolling up in a nice car. Nothing that could justify the absence of service. Anyway, came for the course and it was great.

One of the Best

This has been a favorite course of mine for decades. The views are so stunning it's hard to focus on golf! The course was in amazing shape and the food at Bogeys was excellent. The staff is polite and helpful.

Not worth the price

Played this course for $100. Not at all worth it. The greens were shaggy and impossible to read because of that. Fairways were fine but not great. Played Camelback the next day for $40 less and it was in way better shape.

Good track but currently in very poor condition

Good scenic course but the current conditions are brutal. The greens were twice the length they should be and bumpy. Effectively unputtable. The fairways weren’t much better. Most fairways had large areas with no grass. Having said that, the bunkers were in good shape.

I may have caught it at a bad time but there was no alert about conditions on GolfNow or the course website.

Disappointing

The course conditions were very disappointing for an expensive resort. We played the south course. The greens still had not recovered from aeration. They were incredibly bumpy and shaggy. The holes had clearly not been recut for quite awhile, The fairways were universally cut thin, but in some places were strangely soft. The aprons to most of the greens were wet. Aside from the elevation changes and the views, I have played Muni's in better condition.

Course Needs Serious Haircut

Classic AZ track. Unfortunately, it is not being maintained with the view from a lot of the tee boxes being blocked by desert brush.

Staff is amazing. Course architecture tremendous, the playing surface was solid but again the brush blocking the view from the tee boxes is overwhelming!

Unbelievable Course!!!

This was my first time playing here and I can't wait to come back. By far one of my favorite courses I've played in Arizona! Staff was great, pace of play was perfect, and course was even better. Range was all complimentary and plenty of ice water stations throughout the course. As a first-timer, some of the hole layouts could be tricky, but definitely avoidable the second time around. Couldn't recommend this course enough!!

Solid round for the $$, but could be better.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — South Course at Boulders Golf Club

Really enjoyed my round on the South Course. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived, which set the tone for a great day. The layout itself is fun and scenic, and as a 9‑handicap playing from the white tees, the course felt like the perfect balance — challenging without being punishing, especially for someone who isn’t a long hitter.

Course conditions were mostly strong. Tees and fairways were in excellent shape, and the routing kept things interesting throughout. The greens were the one disappointment: a bit bumpy and not rolling very true. A few bunkers could also use more sand — I even caught some exposed landscape fabric in one of them.

The wildlife and photo ops are a big highlight here. The first hole is probably the best of the “signature” holes, and I kept waiting for another one later in the round to match it, but nothing quite did. Still, it was a solid overall experience and good value for the money.

Wrapped up with lunch at the grill, and Vanessa was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and a great way to end the day.

Beware - Course Needs Maintenance

Rough greens and tee's - fairways were in good condition. Greens were horrible. Not well mowed and very rough surface. Tee's were full of divots and not well cared for. Not worth the price they are asking. I've played this course several times in the past and this was the worst condition I've seen it in. Play somewhere else.
