Tubac Golf Resort & Spa

Great course as always. One of my 5 favorites in Tucson area. Tees, fairways & greens all in great condition. Doesn't matter which two nines I play, I enjoy all 3 of them.

Would I recommend this course, ABSOLUTLY

For a resort course, this course has taken a tangible turn for the worse over the last couple of years. Not sure what is behind this erosion but it is evident and seems to be common opinion locally. Folk will try to blame the weather - lack of precipitation - however surrounding courses seem to have found a resolve - not Tubac.

Haven’t seen Tubac like this before. The course needs some attention.

Only complaint was several of the tee boxes were not in good shape & had green paint applied to cover up the lack of natural grass.

Warm weather brought hordes of golfers. Fairways and greens not in usual good condition.. Pace of play was awful.

Fun and challenging layout with some of the holes were used in the movie Tin Cup

Always enjoyable to play Tubac. Got a good deal for the season.

They were very unpleasant to check in with. Told me they make nothing from golf now tee times. Asked about getting TROON points for playing as at other TROON courses booked on golf now was told they get no payments from golf now and wouldn’t do it. They were about as friendly as a pay toilet in a diarrhea ward. Course layout very confusing few if any markers or arrows when navigating course showing which direction to take cart path.

The weather was nice and sunny and the two other players that joined us were friendly and made the round tolerable.

The course conditions were poor due to no green grass to speak of on the Anza 9 holes. The Rancho nine holes were not much better due to the greens poor condition and the dead skunk on the hole 11 fairway.

We have played Tubac many times in the past and have never experienced such poor conditions.

There are better courses to play in the area. I thought AZ courses use rye grass for fairways in the winter months

I showed up to my 2:20pm tee time at 2:10pm, completely ready to go at 2:15pm. We were approached by the manager, who told us we would need to wait an extra full hour or two because we “missed our tee time” even though we were perfectly on time. I tried showing them our reservation on my phone and the time that I booked it for, but my evidence was turned down with a cold “you should’ve shown up sooner or called the shop ahead of time”. Another employee decided to have the decency to attempt to figure out a way for us to get on the course so we wouldn’t have waisted our money. Fortunately, he was able to help us, but I am still shocked about how the manager treated my group and how she handled the situation. I’ve golfed at this course for as long as I can remember and it is fun, but best of luck to whoever has to deal with that unprofessional and rude manager.
