Good course for the money but...
I've played here many times and it's always a fun day. The layout is good and the playing areas are pretty well maintained. But the area surrounding the course are not good at all. Unfortunately this time, on a day of 112 degrees there was no carts service and the snack shop at the turn was closed, so getting something to drink was not an option. Not a good thing on a hot day. Aside from that it was a nice day of golf.
Greens and fairways
Have played it in the last 2 weeks. Three times it's got the best greens around in the East valley. Everybody else is just coming out of 3 weeks of plugging so they're not quite caught up with painted mountain. Paid them out and did it early and we didn't play during that time there. We were in the Chandler area. Fairways are decent. It's not an easy course. Definitely got to take care time but the par fours are long. The fives are long which makes it an enjoyable afternoon, but the greens are the best. We'll be playing this weekend again
Greens and fairways
Haven't played this year. This was my first. The greens were amazing. I think you guys plugged a little earlier than most cuz everybody right now is going through the plugging blues. Fairways are decent rough's a little thick, but that's what rough is probably the best I've seen in in these greens in a long time. They're the best in the East valley right there. Let me tell you. Month ago I was playing at courses right down the street and they hadn't plugged yet and their greens were great. Now that they are, we'll be playing here for a while course looks great. Should be very proud for the summer that we've had with no rain. You've done an amazing job thanks to the crew at at painted mountain
Good Course, Friendly Staff
Painted Mountain is a challenging par 70 course. They have a tiny staff that is always very friendly and accommodating to me. It's not Pebble Beach, but I played in 2 1/2 hours for $9, so there's that. The fairways and greens are in good shape, and even I can break 80 there most of the time!
Good Course, Nice People.
Jason, Whitney, Nick and Teddy are super nice, and help me get on early and get done quickly. I played in 2 1/2 hrs for $10, (w/Golf Pass discounts), and shot 80. The fairways and greens are in good shape, and the layout is challenging but not ridiculous.
I would pass
Used to go to this course religiously when I was younger, shame what it has become. No driving range, clubhouse is a joke, staff is really nice though. Pace of play was eh, took us around 5 hours and normally our foursome is through just under 4 or barely above it.
Friendly Staff, Challenging Course.
I played in 2 1/2 hours, and I paid $12.92 with my Golf Pass Hot Deal. The three non-landscape staff I dealt with were awesome and super friendly. This time of year, staffing is very low, and there were some patches of brown grass, but the tee boxes, greens and fairways were in good shape. Super nice people!

Aerated , sand and slow
First off should have had a disclaimer about aerated and sand all over the front nine. Not worth the money. Green were so slow. Staff was good as always. But the course which is just an average course as a rule was in bad shape and it’s not even dead of summer yet. Won’t be back there for another 3 years. Tried but the course not the staff failed overall.
Dated 6/14/25
Do not waste$ 50 at this course. There’s minimal grass on the fairways and I’d say 80% of the tee boxes are bare.
Played 18 holes in 2 hours
Maintenance workers are working hard to keep the course in good shape. Greens have been plugged and sanded over recently. Fairways have been plugged as well. Summer Bermuda grass will be filling in quickly.
