new bunkers Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 11/20/2019
good price but course conditions only average
...green punched, fairways very inconsistent. call there first to get condition update.
Terrible greens w/o warning when booking
I was very disappointed when I got on the first green and saw the sand and huge aerification holes. The front 9's greens (Ironwood) were so bad. When I booked the round on GolfNow, there was no warning about poor greens. The 2nd 9's greens were much better. The course was watered a ton and in spots on the fairways my drives would plug and get no role at all. Almost all of the fairways and rough were very green and manicured appropriately. The course is not very challenging off the tee (TONS and TONS of open/favorable fairways), but I could see how the greens would be very challenging when rolling smooth and fast.
Rival for TPC
Plenty of bunkers surrounding greens. Long, some narrow, fairways. A challenging course.
Slow play and 13.25 for a hot dog chips and pop!!!
Golf course was in great shape but was slow. 4 and a half hours on a late Thur morning in July in AZ. So it got hot quick because of all of the weighting around. Not the courses fault but I don't like slow play. Thanks. I had the most costly hot dog chips and pop that I had any where. Even the baseball games here in AZ are cheaper. Thanks. The 19th hole was closed for the summer so I could not get a drink after my round.
a great course to play
The course was in very good condition. The fairways were in perfect shape for the middle of summer. The ball rolled true on the greens. A great course for the advanced and intermediate golfer.
A Fun Resort Course
Kierland is the most fun course I played in Scottsdale. It has a very nice resort amenities and relaxing atmosphere The course is in a great condition. It's not long but still challenging. I'll go back again. .
Great Golf
Wide open fairways and receiptive greens. Must play if in Scottsdale.
wide fairways for sprayers
enjoyed a nice relaxing round at Kierland.. generous fairways, greens rolled true, misters on the golf carts ,excellent course for those of us who aren't the most accurate, got a great deal on Golfnow that unfortunately was not believed in the proshop..It was prepaid, whats it to them to question the green fee I purchased and paid for.. other than that I enjoyed the round and the pari I joined up with,,
Resort style course
We played the Mesquite and Ironwood 9's. Kirland is a first class facility and we very much enjoyed our round in 3.5 hours. It is not a difficult course; the fairways are easy to hit and most of the greens are good size, not overly trapped. Everything was pristine but the greens were a little sparse in places (maybe the heat). Misters on carts did not work very well but there's some shade. The practice facilities are outstanding! I plan to play there a couple of more times this summer through GolfNow.
resort style
resort style golf. fairly easy course yet extremely scenic. great staff.
Still one of Scottsdale's best
Kierland Golf Club probably doesn't get the credit it deserves. It's such an inclusive resort with so many amenities that I think sometimes the 27-hole golf course is a bit overlooked. But Scott Miller, who designed the course, is a solid architect. The three nines here are distinctively different and I like the fact that it's easy to keep the ball in play. (the fairways are shaped in such a fashion that balls tend to funnel back to the center). It's always in good shape, and the holes are different enough that you're never bored. Plus, what other course offers Segways, Golf Bikes and soon, Golfboards as options to golf carts? Add to that great customer service, food & beverage and world-class practice and lesson facilities and you've got one of the best golf experiences in Scottsdale.
Great time
Great place to play course good shape pricel could beat love golfnow.
Enjoyable Course
The course was in fantastic shape. Every hole is different and every hole is a fair challenge. My only complaint is the sound level of the music by the resort pool near Mesquite holes number 1 and 9. It was load and obnoxious. I would not be staying at that pool if I was a resort guess. My birdie on Mesquite 1 was all the more difficult because of it.
Hot day,
Nice facilities, good course. I preferred the second 9 called acacia. Played mesquite on first nine. Our AC carts had the mist option stopped working on us but we didn't bother switching it out as we were running behind. There was a slower group in front of us and no course Marshall as we teed off late in the day I guess. Got a good deal on golfnow but would never pay 199 a round for this course as advertised on weekends. Still, it was on the bucket list and overall we were pretty happy.
Pricey
Loved the course, but considering played 6 times, was far more expensive than equal other courses played, including The Phoenician.
April 13, 2014
The course was in good shape. Got our green fees for half price ($100.00) off Golf Now. Regular rate was $219.00 + tax.
I would play it again if the price was $100.00
Top Quality
Kierlands is a top quality resort course. Suitable for all levels of play, the course is expertly manicured and the attention to detail is evident. Got a deep discount on Golfnow and an great golf experience at Kierlands.
Two different 9s
PLayed the Acacia/Mesquite 18. The Acacia quite a bit more challenging. Mesquite is a wide open tee shot and a target approach shot with bunker guared greens. Course in very nice shape. Greens in excellent condition. Tees and fairways very nice.
The staff was very freindly and most accomadating. The pace of play for two was slow on the Acacia, 21/2 hrs, and quick on the Mesquite, 11/2hrs.
Pk
Fantastic resort course if you can get a deal. Open enough so you can let it rip and have some fun
Play it
This is a pricey but must play course. Great conditions, challenging track, perfect weather. There are 3 nine hole layouts and we played Ironwood and Mesquite. Hardly distinguishable. Both have wide fairways and well bunkered greens, which are large and roll fairly slow.
