About Wild Horse Pass
Wild Horse Pass is a 2,700-acre development on the Gila River Indian tribal community grounds with two separate hotels that are a partner of the 36-hole Whirlwind Golf Club, home to the Devil's Claw and Cattail courses as well as a full practice facility. The Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass is a 500-room, AAA Four-Diamond resort that features an Aji Spa with private pool and cafe and a Forbes Five-Star-award restaurant. Activities include four pools, one of which has a 111-foot waterslide, or enjoy the tribal terrain with horseback riding or trail rides. Particularly unique to the Phoenix-Scottsdale Sonoran Desert is Wild Horse Pass's marina with boat rentals on the Gila River. There is a Sheraton Adventure Club for kids with a full slate of guided activities. For casino gaming, guests can access the nearby Gila River Hotel & Casino at Wild Horse Pass, which has a 100,000 square-foot casino with live table games and live events from comedy to music shows at a 1,400-set venue.Facts

Always good
Devils Claw was great! Greens are really good and roll at a good pace. Good tee boxes, good fairways. Can’t wait to go back!
Great course
Whirlwind is always in good condition and is probably the top two courses in the southeast valley. Just as nice as some top Scottsdale courses with a better price.
Worth every penny
Such a pure course. Greens rolled true, fairways and tee boxes were solid. 3.5 hour round. No complaints. Dubs in the chat for Whirlwind
Very nice course with very friendly support staff
We are from Ohio playing golf in the "hot Phoenix Sun and this course is in great shape and the people that worked at the club were very nice! No wonder the LPGA selects this course for one of their yearly events.
Great setup
Whirlwind - devil's claw is in great shape for late June. Plenty of gettable holes if you can hit a few bombs off the tee. Par 3s aren't outrageously long and there are plenty of Par 4s that put a high premium on accuracy off the tee. Great track and great experience.
Always a great time
Course was in good shape! Greens on cattail were way better than expected based on recent reviews. Firm, fast, but receptive. Couple bald spots here and there in fairways but no biggy. 4 holes into the round I was already looking forward to coming back.
Course was in good shape but the pace of play was bad. 5 hour round
Great Resort Course
We always wanted to pay Whilrwind Cattail course, they they play the LPGA. Golf Now had a really great Hot Flash price, so we got to play the course. This is a really nice resort course. Fairways were generous and very playable. The greens were well protected and in great shape. It was not an easy course, but from the white tees, it was fair and playable. Highly recommend either course.
Great Tracks
Cattail and Devil's Claw each have their pros and cons. The biggest pro for Devil's claw is that the holes tend to be more diverse and more strategy is required with your tee shot selection. Cattail is gettable if you can keep a long drive in the fairway, but miss a green and you're faced with some challenging slopes around the greens.
as of 516 course was punched in many areas and conditions were dry and firm, not good at all even not on greens. Not worth 110+ $
