Always one of the best
Whirlwind is always one of the best conditioned courses around, the whole course was in excellent condition.
Always good
Greens were pure, fairways great, awesome practice facilities. Whirlwind always has it going.
Would you recommend? Great Summer conditions, but...
Began 1st hole with no other group in sight. Early morning tee time and nice summer course condition, and then...
Following completion of 1st hole, we drove to 2nd tee and were greeted by group waiting to tee off. Hoping this wouldn't be an ongoing theme throughout the day, we plodded along. Saw the ranger 3 or 4 times, he even stopped once and we politely asked what the hold up was. He insisted we were still on track, and ahead of pace - despite ongoing strolls looking for lost balls (ours and mostly others) on every hole. Upon completing our round 5 plus hours later, we kept wondering why we had a wait on every single shot following the 1st hole, and met the group in front of us following 18th - who weren't extremely pleased either. They mentioned how foursome in front of them had holes open throughout the round, and how frustrated they were also with the pace of play. Neither of us were sure if the ranger ever spoke with the offending foursome ahead, but felt something more should have, and could have been done - like ranger choosing to follow along (assuming he spoke with them about poor pace), or allowing groups to play through. Course was great overall, but I wouldn't recommend in good conscience until this is resolved.
115* afternoon golf
Lovely course, nice cart, not busy enough for a beverage cart to be out there but plenty of water was available. Course condition was good, just hard to keep your concentration in that kind of heat. But summer is the only time it’s affordable.
Top Quality Golf Course - Amazing Experience
The best golf experience I have had in the valley since moving here.
The clubhouse and facilities are top draw. World class practice area with multiple putting / chipping greens and a top grass range.
Out foursome played 18 in 3h45mins at a steady pace. We did not another group ahead or behind all day as they were well spaced out.
The greens were top, and the overall condition of the course was amazing.
Whirlwind Was Quite The Ride!
We loved playing Whirlwind. This is a first class resort golf course. Fairways were fairly wide. Greens were nicely bunkered. The greens were also in excellent shape. We got a Golf Now deal, which made it a huge value round for us. We played Devil’s Claw, which is the easier of the 2 courses. The Staff was super nice. Lots of drinking water on the course . It was hot, but we had a great time. A must play if you are in the area.
Excellent
Surprised didn’t have any mud balls on the fairway after the rain. Played Devils Claw. Last week we played Cattail and many balls in the fairway were mud balls. Maybe Devils Claw has better drainage? The guys working on the course upkeep were much more aware of golfers, stopping their equipment when we were near, unlike a few weeks ago. There were not many players (we started at 0730) so it felt like we had the course to ourselves. The starter, Scott, always offers us other tee times so we can play as a twosome and we were able to do that this week. The course is in excellent shape and all the staff are wonderful. My brother and I love playing here!
A little wet
We started at 7:30. Many spots in the fairways were very wet, so lots of mud balls. The course & staff are great. That was my only complaint.
Like playing here
Outstanding course conditions. A little drive from the west valley but is worth it.
windy
we experienced a very windy day-- not good for golf!!! the course was awesome!! looking forward to returning on a calm day
