Great Experience
We loved playing at Mountain Ranch. Beautiful and challenging course. Scenic views and the course was in great shape. Friendly staff in Pro Shop and restaurant. Restaurant was nothing fancy but clean and food was great. We hope to come back when we are in AR again. Thank you for a great time.
Mountain Ranch Review
We booked a "Hot Deal" with a tee time of 11 AM knowing that we would be playing in the heat of the day. We found the course to be in very good condition. However, if you get very far off the fairway, look out for rocks. This seems typical of the courses in this area. Guess you should just hit it straight :-) We enjoyed the course layout. It didn't have too many forced carries; it did have some significant elevation changes; and, the greens rolled quite nicely. This is a course that you can play often and still enjoy - enough of a challenge to keep you interested, but not too much of a challenge since there are plenty of tee boxes to choose from.
Best layout in Arkansas
This previous “Best Arkansas Public Course” is still awesome. Tee to green the fairways are lush and well maintained. The bermuda greens were freshly mowed and rolled well. A recent heavy rain left water standing in all the bunkers. Other than bunkers that need $$ and work, I have nothing negative to say. Yes, it has aged some, and doesn’t look quite as fresh as it once did, but it is still a beautiful and interesting track and easily one of the best in Arkansas. As for value, Mountain Ranch and Tannenbaum (it’s little sister 30 minutes away) are a both a tremendous value and a great pair to play in the Greers Ferry Lake area.
Tannenbaum
Fairways were dried out but it's mid summer, greens were decent a little shaggy but expected with the heat, overall not bad, layout is awesome
Great course
Love this place. I try to play it as often as I can. Course is always in good shape and can't beat the friendly staff
Amazing course
This is one of the best courses in AR and challenging for any skill level. The greens were slower when wet but pretty quick when they dried out. Staff is really friendly but it’s better to call and schedule a tee time vs in the app. Pace of play was great for me until the very end, got held up by a group of 4 for a few holes but otherwise it was wonderful. If you can play this course, do it and you won’t regret it.
All around good facility
Course was fun and worth the the price. It's a little rough in places but could be excellent if they had the money to put back into maintenance. It's a retirement community and not a resort so it's understandable that it just isn't feasible. The staff were excellent. The prices in the pro shop are great. The restaurant on site was great food as well.
Hidden Gem
Really nice course, especially if you have young kids that you take to golf with you. Also probly one of the easiest that I’ve played. Greens and fairways were really good, only things I wish were different is that they would bring the bunkers back to life and have water in the water features.
Will test your game off the tees
Great little track.
A lot of blind t-shots with narrow fairways at times.
Friendly staff in the bar and halfway house.
A good test from the black tees.
Beautiful
The course was beautiful. The condition was just about perfect, with only a couple of dry spots on 1 or 2 greens, away from the pin. Speaking of greens, I don’t know that you’ll find trickier greens in the state. The fairways were cut excellently and it was clear where they were heading. I can’t wait to get back out there!
As always a great course to play
Good as always, friendly people great Course to play
