Nice course but
The drought has not been nice to the tee boxes or fairways, Greens are in fairly good shape, just wish people would repair their divots.
Easy front hard back 9
I would rate it 6 out of 10 . Good layout few to many small pebbles in fairway. Would play it again
Course fairways are very dry. Greens are pretty good
Pretty good shape considering how dry our weather is always enjoy the layout. The greens are in good shape would recommend.
Some the greens need help
The day started out with the staff telling me that I did not have a tee time booked. They said I had not paid the computer did not show and booking. I had to go through my emails and showed I paid. Then they wanted to say I only paid the service fee and I had to show them on the email where it was paid in full.
Took about 5 minutes to get it worked out before we got out to play. They were kind of rude until I proved I paid in full and had a tee time booked. Fairways were cut nicely but lots of rocks on the edges. Multiple greens had issues with crabgrass, bare spots and even crevices made putting difficult at times. They had the fans going on all of the greens which which made putting even more difficult.Course layout is fun.I have played there several times and will hopefully play again.
Always Enjoy Mountain Ranch
We enjoy playing mountain ranch. It is a solid choice for a great day of golf.
Nice scenery
We had trouble getting started due to their computer not showing my reservation. The tee boxes and fairways were groomed nicely. The greens had lots of bad spots and crab grass growing through.
Great Experience
We loved playing at Mountain Ranch. Beautiful and challenging course. Scenic views and the course was in great shape. Friendly staff in Pro Shop and restaurant. Restaurant was nothing fancy but clean and food was great. We hope to come back when we are in AR again. Thank you for a great time.
Mountain Ranch Review
We booked a "Hot Deal" with a tee time of 11 AM knowing that we would be playing in the heat of the day. We found the course to be in very good condition. However, if you get very far off the fairway, look out for rocks. This seems typical of the courses in this area. Guess you should just hit it straight :-) We enjoyed the course layout. It didn't have too many forced carries; it did have some significant elevation changes; and, the greens rolled quite nicely. This is a course that you can play often and still enjoy - enough of a challenge to keep you interested, but not too much of a challenge since there are plenty of tee boxes to choose from.
Best layout in Arkansas
This previous “Best Arkansas Public Course” is still awesome. Tee to green the fairways are lush and well maintained. The bermuda greens were freshly mowed and rolled well. A recent heavy rain left water standing in all the bunkers. Other than bunkers that need $$ and work, I have nothing negative to say. Yes, it has aged some, and doesn’t look quite as fresh as it once did, but it is still a beautiful and interesting track and easily one of the best in Arkansas. As for value, Mountain Ranch and Tannenbaum (it’s little sister 30 minutes away) are a both a tremendous value and a great pair to play in the Greers Ferry Lake area.
Tannenbaum
Fairways were dried out but it's mid summer, greens were decent a little shaggy but expected with the heat, overall not bad, layout is awesome
Great course
Love this place. I try to play it as often as I can. Course is always in good shape and can't beat the friendly staff
Amazing course
This is one of the best courses in AR and challenging for any skill level. The greens were slower when wet but pretty quick when they dried out. Staff is really friendly but it’s better to call and schedule a tee time vs in the app. Pace of play was great for me until the very end, got held up by a group of 4 for a few holes but otherwise it was wonderful. If you can play this course, do it and you won’t regret it.
