Carmel Valley Gem
Course was in fantastic shape with fast and tricky greens. It's not a long course but a fun track. It's not overly penal but there are risk/reward holes. I arrived early and hit some balls off the turf range (included with greens fee). All of the staff were extremely helpful, professional and made the experience great. The best thing by far though were the gentlemen (members) I got grouped with as I was playing as a single. Generous with course knowledge and kind enough to ignore my wayward shots. They also kept pace extremely well which is always appreciated. A fun round that I'd be happy to pay rack rate for as it was the most fun I've had in a while. If you're looking for a nice day out (and what I hear is a fantastic lunch), don't hesitate to play here.
Great Course
This Pete Dye course is challenging, beautiful and in great condition. Many elevation changes add to both the beauty and the challenge. Not a long course but still super. Part of the Carmel Valley Ranch resort -!an outstanding resort.
Great Day for Golf
Course is in great shape. Tough course for playing first time. Played in afternoon so the weather was comfortable.
Greens were sanded, and staff said nothing about it. No marshal to speed up play, 3some in front of our 2some were taking pictures and added a fourth player without clubs who walked to holes, asked about it at turn and was told they were members. Really!
Was a great course to play , cart guys were condescending towards a few people . Girls working at the turn didn't seem to have much patience for us as we got our drinks
Dramatic views
Course in excellent condition , layout challenging but fair with dramatic elevation changes on the back nine , unique hole designs and fun to play. Played after 12 noon so rate reasonable for a first class golf experience.
Beatiful Course
Four of us played (2-couples) and all found the course to be in very good condition. The Staff was very pleasant and seemed happy to assist you. Some of the holes were challenging enough for the better players. For the higher handicap players there are forward tee boxes that will assure a player has a fun day of golf. There were several signature holes that were elevated with an awesome views. During the round we spotted several deer. All in all the consensus of both couples is that we all had a very good day and will definitely play this course again.
Loved this course
I loved this course. Two completely different set of nines; flat valley nine and mountainside nine. Many elevation changes, great views and many challenges. The course was in very good condition during our round in April. Staff was very courteous and helpful. Very nice Clubhouse and Pro Shop.
Great course
Excellent course, excellent conditions. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you haven't played it it's a must play when in the Monterey area.
Pleasant resort course for the whole family to enjoy!
I was delighted to get an opportunity to play this course. Its a short course but offers plenty of challenges. Narrow fairways and water hazards will force you to layup at times. Water level at creeks are high so always stay on the better side. Keep an eye on signs to next hole you can get lost and watch for trees along cart path.
Great review for one of my favorite courses. Thanks for posting. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
