Great course located in the center of Carmel Valley
I would highly recommend this course but would rather keep it to myself.price is right and it is beautiful here.
Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.
Plenty to drink and eat. They installed a nice bar/cafe after hole 8.
This golf course is always managed well just wish some that played on the course would care for it more. Rake sand traps, fix divets, etc
It sucks getting a great shot and then your ball stuck in someone’s else foot print on the sand. There is no worse feeling than.
Hit more birdies and enjoy your game!
Great course, needs owners oversight
First, fun course in great shape with fantastic views and layout. I played Pebble also on the trip. CVL should be proud of the course they provide for their members and thank you for sharing it with the public. Staff is mixed bag; golf professionals and lazy imbeciles. The latter easily identified, harder to avoid. On round #2 saw a large gap between AM and 1pm times so asked a disheveled (nothing a haircut and ironing board wont fix) OGS employee to go ahead. He mumbled a response I interpreted as a no, so I waited to drive to the 1st hole for my 1pm slot where a later-scheduled 3some had balls teed up, asking to go bc they were "really fast players" with no attempt by the marshal/starter present to enforce my teetime. I spent the round pushed by the group behind, waiting at every teebox and approach shot for mediocre players who either don't understand pace etiquette, or have passive-aggressive tendencies, never allowing passage even though there was no group in front of them. The players' actions during the round clearly demonstrated their intent, hurrying to the teebox after each green and then obviously slow-walking play. Ultimately the responsibility lies with staff. Don't make players do the job their $ pays you to do, and the starter needs to have enough brains to figure out that a single with blades will outrun 3 fat socializing drinkers easily.
A Special Dye
Great design by Pete Dye with dramatic elevation changes and unparalleled beauty. Course conditions were perfect.
Fun round in honor of all moms
Great weather but windy. Course in great shape and green slick but fair. I birdied 12th hole with sandy save from the uphill fairway bunker with a 2 foot putt. A miracle Sunday!!
Not my best time at this course
I've been playing this course for 40 years, and this was probably my least enjoyable round. The cuts around the greens were often such that it was impossible to discern the edge of the green.
There was a lot of maintenance going on - a temporary green, and many areas where work was being done, but were unmarked as GUR.
Given this, I'd have expected a discount on the green fees at least.
I'll go back, because i do love this course, but this was a bit of a letdown.
Wow, just wow.
Belong to a great country club (Tulsa Country Club) that's well kept and challenging. Love finding places like CVR. Stunning scenery, well groomed, not crazy difficult, yet very challenging. Staff was good/polite.
Heavy gusts with stunning views
This course is best for all golf enthusiasts beginner or not who enjoy immaculate greens and unique layouts offered along each hole.
Fabulous Experience
Facilities and staff were terrific! Course was in excellent shape and pace of play was perfect!
A real gem! I’d highly recommend.

Such a fun course!
I loved playing here. About 6200 from the tips and back 9 tee off shots make you think twice.
