Slow Greens
I played here for the first time. The staff were great other than a snaffoo when I checked in. (The lower deck check in sent me direct to the starter and the starter checked me in but the inside person thought I was a no show and gave my spot to a walk-up. I got a free bucket of balls and started my round an hour later.)
The course is good value for money. The layout makes best use of the property but a lot of holes look very similar. I played from the whites, but would definitely play the blues of the blacks next time. Otherwise there is not sufficient challenge/ penalty for a bad tee shot. Course was very busy and we waited on every shot. Just too many groups on the course, including a couple of fives which I really hate.
Greens were GLACIAL SLOW and a real downer for the round. This was exacerbated by the large greens. In many cases you could not swing the putter hard enough. This needs to be fixed ASAP.
Cimarron Golf Day
Decent course. Probably a bit over priced to be honest compared to other courses in the valley of similar quality. Range balls extra…….come on Cimarron. $109 for the round and $10 for just a few range balls !!!!
Reseeding soon or not, the course was in dire conditions.
Decent round
Super friendly staff and well maintained course. We golfed here just after opening post overseeding - greens were a little slow and that is to be expected. Course was busy and we started late, we moved at a decent clip though in the end it got closer to a 4.5/5 hour round as we slowed down on the back. No water on the course and it was a challenge getting a sandwich on the course despite cart service (out of sandwiches twice?) - hole 10 is not exactly at the clubhouse so we made a mad dash to the bar/kitchen and they did not have anything ready there either. I'm general staff were great and helpful. I think the course is decent value overall - not hugely challenging, greens are pretty easy (I remarked on the one green on the back nine that had some serious slope, first one all day). So good intermediate course.
Long waits
This was my 2nd time playing this course. Both times there were long wait times to start and at each hole. I only got 9 holes the last time due to the waits. They clearly overbook!
Put me on the wrong course
I paid to play boulder and they put me on pebble. Staff was unorganized. Staff needs to pay more attention to detail and their guests. I was not happy playing a course I didn’t pay for
Not the best time of year to play this.
Ground is very hard here and greens not very receptive- the wind blows through here and makes this a miserable golfing day - the dust blows so that at times a 130 yd flag and green are hard to see !
I think that at a different time and condition this will be a much better course.
Short game practice
If you are looking to sharpen your short game or just have a bit of fun this place is worth checking out. I did use a surprising number of clubs but maybe not the entire bag. Next time I will definitely play from the back tees. Overall the course is in good shape, particularly for the time of year (end of summer). Pace of play was surprisingly good as the course was busy but we rarely waited. I will be back
Great little course. Don’t be in a rush
This is a great par three. Long holes, short ones too. Pace was a little slow, but likely time of year. Just be patient and enjoy the scenery. Ha.
Off Season Round
Tough to give a proper review as it was super hot (113F or 44C). Staff in the pro shop were super friendly. Nothing else open but we have eaten here before and it was great. Course was in decent shape.
Fairways are yellow and dead
Was slightly disappointed but the course does have potential but grass was dead and yellow greens were nice that’s it
Brown
For the price we paid, this was not worth it. No water on coarse, fairways were brown and green in the same conditions
Beginner course with lack of proper irrigation and maintenance.
Facility looked nice from the onset. Pro shop was well appointed. The course conditions were sub-par with the lack of water on greens, fairways, and tee boxes. The cart paths turned from asphalt into dirt on many holes. Lack of trees. The course seemed to be layed out OK with tee box amenities available at one time but they have since been abandoned. Would not waste my time playing this course again. There are to many nice courses in the valley.
A Favoriate Track
Cimarron Pebble never disappoints me and is always a good humbling test of my short game when I think I'm playing well! Course is in proper late summer condition - they could use a re-fresh of the tee boxes because some of them are really terrible. The staff is awesome, pro shop and food are always great, driving range is very nice, will keep coming back!
