Water everywhere
Seems like there was water every other hole. I love a challenge and water always wins. The course had alot of turns definitely going back soon.
Love the back 9 - mountain
This course is our “value” golf round. Decent condition. Hope the Hyatt resort club purchase of the resort doesn’t make it private or unaffordable. Lots of airplane traffic on a Monday which we had not experienced before.
Inconsistent care of grounds
Very friendly and helpful staff. Some holes are well maintained and other are not. We found ourselves driving the golf cart long distances on the streets ringed by either homes or mobile homes. Not very scenic. I don't think we will return.
Average at Best
The course was average, at best. The greens were very good, the fairways were average, and the tee boxes needed help. Outside of the fairways and greens, there was very little grass and a lot of time you hit off of little patches of grass or dirt. In addition, the pace of play was very slow - 5-1/2 hours for 18 holes.
Great layout
We've golfed Cathedral Canyon many times in the past and have always enjoyed the layout.
Some reviews said that it's in really poor condition, but we felt it was the same as usual.
Greens and bunkers were good but some of the fairways were a little thin (we bumped the ball on most fairways).
The price is a little steep but I had a GolfNow coupon which helped a bit.
Course not in the condition it could be,
Course was not in the condition it should be for the price they normally charge. Greens were ok, sandtraps need work and the fairways were firm and need attention. Lots of water, so look at the scorecard. Drop the normal price or improve the course.
For me a very unforgiving course. Had lots of trouble reading greens and I am usually a good putter. Haven’t played in a while so probably lacked some touch around greens. Since grass in thins several shots found water that wouldn’t on other courses. Yardages were difficult to find and I don’t use electronics. Probably won’t play it again.
Fun golf course, green fees to high
I treated my two grandsons to a round of golf for the holidays. I surfed the internet looking for a course at a reasinable price.
Came a cross Cathedral Canyon for $75.00 per person. Got there and was a little disappointed. The condition was fair and the greens were good. The overall lay out was a fun course with lots of water :-). I would say $50.00 per person would be fair
Poor condition
Looks like lots of ‘winter kill’ in fairways and some greens. Have to play preferred lies or you’re hitting off hard, bare ground. Place not busy in mid-season and I can see why!
Terrible Shape
The course is in really poor condition from the fairways to the greens.
Would never play this course again. Yard markers were not visible.
Don’t waste your time and money
Decent Course
The course was very functional. It does need some TLC. The greens provided a great challenge, the bunker sans was quite packed and some of the fairways were in need of repairs.
Course needs some TLC
First time playing there this year and I was disappointed. Fairways were very dry and hard. Greens were fast but bumpy. Lots of water hazards on the course, so bring extra balls if you are not a good golfer. I had a discounted rate, so it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't pay full price. JC Golf needs to put some money in the course.
