Hole #12 I believe. Photo submitted by Trailerteri on 04/03/2013
Nice Day and Good Location
The course was well maintained, staff was outstanding, however the fairways were very tight to one another, which made hitting the greens in regulation difficult if your tee shot was not in the middle of the fairway.
No Food
Driving range limited to 150 yard
No food at the turn
Had to share a cart with someone outside of my group.
All of these are “normal” for a golf course - but hard to swallow after paying $260+ for a tee time.
Nice location! Incredible greens
Really nice place the players course it was incredible greens. Everything went really fast. Only took a little over four hours. Really nice people and lots of nice buildings.
Sadistic Greens
Due to sadistic pin placements, lightening fast greens and very undulating greens, be ready to shoot 8 shots higher than your average.
Beautiful course and hole designs (too much sand tho), but
I’d suggest this to their grounds staff:
Greens are way too fast for the contours, and don’t have so many extreme pins, right near front or near the back.
Makes it impossible for amateurs with hdcps higher than 4 or 5.
I’m a 6 and it crushed me.
Given all that, it wasn’t even CLOSE to being worth the $.
Should be better for the price
Only the tees, fairways and greens are overseeded. Usually this is Ok but the brown areas are very bare overall. Playing for the first time you really don't know where to miss and if you hit it towards the "wash" side of the course you will get some really bad bounces down the hills. Greens were hard but lightning fast. Difficult to hold a green with anything longer than a 9 iron and lots of spin. I expected more for one of the higher priced courses.
A little pricey
Overall great experience. However for the price I found classic club less expensive and in better condition. The simulators in each bay in the range was really cool. There was debris and trash just off of most fairways. One staff member also tainted the beginning of round with some negativity ie not very friendly. Other staff members were excellent!
PERFECTION
This place has the perfect golf courses!!! It is well maintained, challenging, fun, risk/reward, but fair. The conditions were perfect! I would say this is a hidden gem of a course surrounded by bigger names like PGA West that take the spotlight. If you get the chance to play in this area GO HERE!!! Staff was friendly, but the only reason I don't give a perfect score is because they kicked us off the driving range for a group of kids lessons. They only used half of the range but they kicked everyone off... Not cool. Pro shop was robust and the food and drink is great on and off the course. This is an easy recommendation for me! I can't believe I pay the same price in Florida (for a mediocre course at best) when I could just go here instead...
Graham
Absolutely gorgeous course, every hole on the back 9 was worth a photo! I will definitely play here again.
Beyond Excellent
Staff, course condition and panoramic views excellent!
Excellent
First time at Indian Wells and it did not disappoint. Played the Players Course on a Wednesday morning a few days before Christmas and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. So, no issues on pace.
Course was in stunning condition. Absolutely perfect. Not a blade of grass out of place. Greens fast and firm (and tricky!) but fair. The views are out of this world. For the most part, nothing but mountains and nature. A special spot.
Hi-tech GPS with touch screens in the cart was nice. Also bluetooth speaker in the carts as well.
One odd note -- they had us start on #9 which was a little strange. Made for a slightly disjointed trip around but we managed it OK.
Clubhouse is really enormous and a little impersonal -- but we had a nice lunch and a beer on the upstairs veranda. Food was good and decent craft beer selection.
I will be back!
Amazing
Beautiful course …. A must play
Great conditions, amazing weather.
Great condition, staff welcoming and amenities all make the round great.
Great course
If you like the front nine you’ll love the back nine!
