Hole #12 I believe. Photo submitted by Trailerteri on 04/03/2013
Perfect Day
The Indian Wells course is our favorite in the Palm Springs area. The course is 5 star - great condition, moderately challenging, very helpful staff, true greens and fun layout. No two holes are the same. Lots of water stations and bathrooms. And course personnel act like they truly care about you. Only complaint is that the course turned a lovely putt putt course into a money making enterprise that essentially blocks golfers who like a little something different from playing the putt putt course. But that little course is different from the two championship course which are simply fantastic.
Lots of sand!!
Very pretty. Challenging where it needs to be. I would play every day if I could.
Good Course
Prices for play and for my guest were very high. The management there has increased the price for my guest to $110 which is inordinately high. Course is in great shape but plenty of ball marks and divot marks on fairways and greens. I believe that they should have a "divot master" out on the course to replace divots and fix ball marks on the greens. There is no practice bunker to practice bunker shots anywhere on the course. Outside is a truck where one can place an order for dining, a second or third rate way to please the players. Should be indoors where it is warm. Overall, the course is in good shape. Would play there again but highly recommend the changes on the Course.
Solid Course, Wonderful Greens
Players Course is wonderful manicured for December, fairways and greens in excellent shape, greens run true and fairly quick (not riduculous). The rough is dormant and yellow, fine by me. But with the dormant rough, any ball struck near the edge of the water or desert, most likely will roll into those areas. The course(s) (36 hole facility) play among themselves and not through a neighborhood. Beverage cart came around pretty often and the staff was very friendly. We finished in 4 hrs 30 min, which is also their recommended time.
Celebrity
Played the Yellows (6349/70.7/128) with GK Guru's Dave, Brian & George early morning. Fun group to play with! The weather was calm and sunny. Cold when we started a little after 7 but had warmed up to perfect conditions by the time we finished a little before noon.
Beautiful, tougher than average layout. Constantly up/down hills and the large green complexes are challenging. Fourteen par 4's with only two par 5's and two par 3's = par 72. Normally, that would be a detriment, but the par 4's here all have a different feel/look, good mixture of longer and risk/reward holes to keep things fun and interesting. This course would be a beast to walk as numerous holes are a long way from the last green.
The over seeded tees were lush with few divots. No challenges getting level lies.
The over seeded fairways were very lush and provided excellent lies.
The over seeded rough was very lush and not overly penal.
The sand traps were decently maintained with good quality sand.
The over seeded greens were good, but not great. They looked quicker than they were. They putted medium slow early morning and were up to medium speed by the end of the round. Not as smooth as previous visits here. Even though firm, they held well struck irons well.
The customer service was exceptional as always here. Complementary range balls on an all grass range is always a plus. Cart person around numerous times. Very nice course in overall excellent condition. Highly recommended.
Amazing
Already loved Indian Wells. As nice as any public course in the desert. Course was in phenomenal shape. Staff very accommodating. Booked a 2:20 PM for Celebrity. Pro Shop told me I’d get more in if I played Players. Was able to fit 15 holes in a little more than two hours of sunlight for $59. By far the best deal I have ever had paying for golf.
Great Time
Course was in great shape. Greens could have been a little faster but were puttable. Staff from the golf shop to the starter to the refreshment cart were very friendly.... would definitely play here again.
Great course
Great track. I felt the course had a little bit of everything. Some challenging holes, a couple short par 4’s where you can go for it off the tee, a few “target golf” holes, all of which are in great condition. Scenery was awesome. Course was well manicured.
I was able to squeeze in 18 teeing off at 12:50pm. Discounted rate and still managed to finish before dark which was nice.
Plenty of tee box options as well, so I feel like it’d be an enjoyable course for all skill levels.
Would golf again.
Great Morning
The course is pristine. Greens a bit slow but ran true. T boxes excellent as were the fairways. It was busy but we finished in under 4 hours.
Staff in pro shop , on course and in the bar were very helpful and welcoming. Play it once or twice each year when visiting. Does not disappoint
super course
how can you not like to have music in your cart 50 + stations advanced gps shows all
postion of carts throw the farway
super friendly acomadating staff
worth the extra money
farways and greens in grest shape
well come back throon golf
Great day at Indian Wells
A great day right from the time we arrived with the complimentary valet parking, friendliness of the staff and a great feeling when you walked into the pro shop. Very helpful with all our needs and questions. Driving range in good shape. The starter at the first tee was fantastic, very friendly and professional. Very knowledgeable about the course and a great sense of humour.
The pace of play was great played in 3.5 hours with no waits. Course in very good shape and being just off of overseeding was very good. Being cart paths only did not have any affect on pace of play. First time playing this course and glad I did. Another Palm Springs Course off the list. Will be back to play again.
Players course highly recommended.
Highly recommend the Players course. Fairways are great. The course was just re-opened after reseeding. Cart path only. I found the staff to be fantastic. Top notch landscaping. Lots of ice and water available on course. Cart girl was great too. Ate at the Vue for the Happy Hour after golf. Great food & drinks!
Great test!
Would have been 5 stars but opening day after overseed had the greens at a 7
Was hoping for much better!!!!
The time of year perhaps is the reason for most of my review, however there is much to be said about the value of the round. During this overseed time of year really they should offer a discounted price!! The conditions were perfect weather, but pace of play and course conditions were fair at best. From safety issues with very narrow fairways and very limited yardage between greens and some T boxes, you must keep and open eye to the sky on this course. One hole had 4 groups on the fairway while we waited at the T box, and the only groups playing the hole was the one on the green and Us on the box!!! Need I say more?
Overall I think its an overpriced round compared to what the valley has to offer.
Would I play here again??? Not sure being familiar with the other courses in the area I would land this course at the bottom of the play list.
To save face the staff was very friendly and the bar/grill was a wonderful 19th hole. But overall for the price I know where I can go for a much better round in the valley.
Great condition
Neat fairways tight greens..excellent time
.will definitely be back
