Great Executive Course
This is an interesting and challenging executive course. There is a lot of elevation change, tree trouble on offline shots, nicely kept, sometimes difficult to read greens, which are pretty fast. Tees and fairways are well kept and the par4s offer doglegs and a good challenge. The only thing that doesn't work too well are the sand traps. They are hard and lack the soft, deep sand needed to make an explosion shot and are thereby a bit unfair, especially on green-side shots.
Great golf experience.
This is generally a user friendly course. The new carts are comfortable and beautiful. The only small problem is that the regulator is set so you cannot get very close to the putting green which makes it tough for the elderly player.
Overall in good shape
Overall the course is in good shape. The tee boxes were horrible no water dead and overused. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They have new golf carts that are very nice but very confusing sometimes it lets you on the fairway and sometimes it doesn’t I guess the course wasn’t well marked for when you were supposed to stay on the cart path and when you weren’t.
Excellent Condition
Loved the course in spite of the difficult and fast greens. Course conditions were great.
SLOW PACE AND POOR FAIRWAYS
I played here after having payed earlier in January. The pace of play was VERY slow. 4 hours and 55 minutes to play 18 holes. The fairways are in poor shape. Grass, what little there is, is cut vary low. Also, I made a reservation on line for $46.00 but then was charged a $24.00 cart fee which I thought was excessive. Plus warm-up balls, totaled $76.00 to play a less than average golf course. On a positive note, the greens were in pretty good shape and putting fast.
Great track
We knew pace of play would be slow Easter Sunday so no big deal there. Greens were in great shape and fast. You have to stop and think before you putt. We had a blast will be back, staff and bar and outside seating to watch the 9th green are just many of the added benefits.
St. Mark’s ex
Always a great course and excellent condition. Staff is very friendly and the food is great!
Fun pitch and putt in San Marcos
I played this course for the first time today. I was solo on a weekday. The pace was not bad, but there are several seniors on the course, so your mileage may vary. The course was in decent, but not great shape. The tee boxes were hard and the greens were a bit fast. Not overly challenging but much fun. The club house had a good choice of pub food and great local beers. I hope to make this one of my home courses.
Lovely course!
Played St Mark, Eagle Crest and Mt Woodson over three days. St Mark was the best of them!
