Beautiful Course!
This was the first time I had golfed there and we had a great time! Course was wet due to recent rain, but it was a beautiful course. I would definitely play there again! The staff was courteous and had great attitudes and smiles - which only added to a great experience!
Below avg course, cart path only?
Course not in great shape and it wasn’t just the weather. No way a course of this quality should require cart path only. Unnecessarily slowed play when it wasn’t needed.
Unfortunate
This course needs to be restored badly. It’s been destroyed by development. Soule Park is better

Good day. Outstanding facilities and very warm and helpful staff. The assistance with our luggage and the friendliness of the staff at Jimmy’s were very much appreciated. Mark W at the golf course was incredibly nice and accommodating, as always! We will certainly be back! Thank you so much
Save some cash and head to Soule Park
I've played Ojai Valley Inn a few of times now and likely won't be back unless it's a free round.
There is never notice of cart path only, if I'll be starting on 1st or 10th tee, or partial closure of any holes (18 in particular seems to always be partially closed and requires using the front tees).
This last time around there was another group that was somehow booked for the exact same tee time. I'm sure that one of us was supposed to tee off on the 10th hole, but who wants that? We ended up sorting out the situation ourselves as no starter was around.
There is also never a marshal that goes around to monitor pace of play. I get that this is a world class resort so they likely don't want to make their guests feel rushed, but expect a 5+ hour round here.
The course itself is in amazing condition, but forgettable in layout. The front 9 are the highlight with the back 9 weaving in and out around the hotel property.
If you're really looking for the best golf in Ojai then I highly suggest Soule Park. Conditions are just as nice, better course layout, and a fraction of the cost.
Spencer and the staff at Ojai were just phenomenal!!
Shame what they are doing to this course
Ojai is a wonderful old track. They have ruined the superb finishing hole, by building some sort of spa building in the line of play.
The greens are fine, but the fairway conditions are very poor. Not much grass in a lot of places!
A Pleasant Round
The course is excellent with plenty of challenges and very beautiful holes. Checking in very efficient, starter great. All the administration flowed smoothly. Pace of play very good.
I had a wonderful experience and will return.
Enjoyable course
Front side had some cool holes and great views (10 & 11 are a bit odd)
Back side more basic layout - wide fairways and relatively flat.
Excellent condition / fast greens
Poor condition & No notice of cart path ONLY
Long time friend had mentioned how creative and nice this course is but turnaround it was just horrible course & condition. When I booked with golf now and drove almost 2 hours expecting to play great course. When I arrived without no one telling us it was cart path ONLY ? All holes grass is very poor condition and muddy. Last we had group front of us playing
5 sums playing horribly delaying our game. They were backed up multiple hole front of their group ?? I mean I could go on but I think it’s not worth my time. This was my first and last time playing paying almost $100 round ?? I don’t think with all conditions above plus wouldn’t worth this money. This course would be similar to Hansan Dam course only pay $35 lol. Golf course should info customers specially GolfNow that it will be cart path ONLY. I really regretted driving 2 hours with paying high cost …
Give it time to dry
The course was wet and muddy yesterday (understandable) after the recent rains, so cart path only, muddy ball after every shot, hiking through lots of casual water to get to the ball. Greens were rolling well and the course is as green as I’ve ever seen it.
All the stars
Classic course. Beautiful scenery. Five star service
