The ranch-style Pala Mesa Resort in Fallbrook is just minutes away from Temecula wine country. All 132 rooms have either been renovated or will be soon. A heated outdoor pool, four lighted tennis courts and fitness room are available to guests. The golf course starts out narrow but gets more scenic with more elevation changes later in the round.Facts

No Notice of Punched and Sanded Greens
This is normally a very good golf corse but the greens were not puttable today. There was no notice posted when I booked this reservation and if there was I would not have played. This is normslly a very good overall facility and hopefully notifications will be fone in the future

Green speed
Practice green fast but play green we’re slow
I lake fast green, Pala Mesa is one of my favorite course, recent course maintenance we’re not good as before.

Cart path only
Don't understand why we had to play cart path only. For a so called resort course it was looking kind of shabby.

So Slow pace couldn’t finished 18 holes Because girls tournament same day

With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Very disappointed
Very disappointed. Overbooked. The course was really backed up. They were several parties starting 2-3 minutes apart after a tournament. After waiting for almost an hour to start our round, we have to wait for about 15 minutes each hole. We as many other parties, quit early because it would have taken 6 hours to complete the round while waiting for the tournament players to finish.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Challenging resort course.
This golf course has an excellent layout, unfortunately not as well maintained as it could be, greens roll pure, and tee boxes are in good shape but the fairways and rough are pretty bare. Starter was grumpy, but the rest of the staff was very nice. I would play again.

Wouldn’t play again for the price !
Most of the course is in pretty bad shape with the exception of a few holes , particularly 10,11,18, which were okay. The back nice was in much better shape than the front, but still not great for what is charged for green fees. Conversely, the pace of play was good and the staffing was generous.

Teaser Fairways
I have recently moved jobs that requires me to commute to San Diego a couple times a week. So my route obviously takes me my this place. Looking from the Highway, the course looks incredible. Sadly that wasn’t quite the case. Once on the course. The pace of play was apparent. What should be typically a 4 hour round with the amount players on the course. Turned into a plus 5 hour round. So I’m sure one tends to find more things wrong with a course after having spent this much time on it.
On a more positive note; The people who work there are absolutely top notch!! The level of professionalism is unmatched.
