Spectacular
This course is amazing. For me, it lived up to the hype and the expense.
First, the entire Pechanga facility is amazing. It was hard to find the golf course as the casino/hotel comples is humungous. Having said that, on to the course
I wa a single and got paired up with a 3 some. They did NOT make me pair up in a golf cart with the third member of the threesome, which was great. Nothing against the fine young man, but you never know who you are going to get paired with (a smoker perhaps) so that was a plus for me.
The practice facilities are first rate, with a short game area as well as the normal driving range and putting green.
The course has several holes that play significantly down hill. All preceded by long cart drives uphill. I dont know if they allow walking, but i wouldn't advise it unless you are very fit and acclimated to significant uphill climbs.
The downhill holes have spectacular views of the course and surrounding areas. There are also several scenic flatter holes with water and a few holes with trees that are perfectly located to make you plan and execute your drive or approach shots.
Greens have some significant slope and were in excellent shape.
One the back nine the cart path is designed so that the stream flows over the cart path in 2 locations. A small, but beautiful touch i haven't seen anywhere else.
I will close by reiterating that Journey at Pechanga lived up to the hype (and name, it really is a Journey thourhg the foothills) I loved it and will play again when i am in the area.
Classic beauty.
Love this place. Came over from a palm springs vacation to play.
Outstanding
Everything about the experience was top notch. The staff was incredible, the course was in great shape and the facilities were incredible. Worth the green fees and highly recommended to anyone willing to spend a little.
Challenging but fun
This is the type of course that you need to think about just about every shot. If you like that kind of challenge once in awhile it was a lot of fun. Excellent condition and great views. I got this on a hot deal and I had a credit so it wasn't too bad price wise but I think normally it's pretty pricey. For an occasional special round this would be one of the courses that should be considered
The Best Around
The course had everything you want in exclusive golf, minus the million dollar homes. Maderas and Steele quality. Reminded me of Streamsong.
An oasis of golf
The Journey is one of my favorite public/resort courses in California. It's that good. It's got one suspect hole up the mountain (no. 7), but beyond that blip, it's one thrilling shot after another. The sixth tee shot that plummets 175+ feet will stick in your memory banks for a while. The Journey's End restaurant in the clubhouse serves some of the best golf fare anywhere.

Great Fall conditions
First of all, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was surprised that it’s still cart path only; it was supposed to end on 11/5. If you have any ailments, the back 9 could be challenging for those golfers. Course amenities, food and drinks are good. The course is in excellent shape from tee to green for fall conditions and offers nice views.
Awsome ! The grass and the greens perfrct
It is imposible to have better conditions in golf course
Solid Course, Solid Staff, Solid Experience
Had the opportunity to play this course at 1:45 p.m. on a Sunday. Course is always in terrific conditioning as well. Manicured from t to Green (the tee box on 10 is spongey but easily forgivable for how nice the rest of the course is). The range balls are complimentary and the property boasts a great short game practice facility and a very realistic practice. Putting green to get you ready for your game.
Only thing that was marked less than five stars was the pace of play, but that was more due to the group playing in front of us. I recently learned the course does not have later tee times at this time of year. The group in front of us was playing for money and did not seem to want to allow us to play through despite us frequently being right behind them and accidentally hitting into them a couple times. The staff handled the incident outstandingly and see them as some of the best in Southern California.
If you get a chance to play here, do it!!!
Uniquely scenic and pristine golf course, delightful experience even during high temperatures
Even during high temperatures, staff maintained highly professional service and accommodated the players. Great measure of the business’s quality (during extreme times), and Journey did their best. An Arthur Hills gem, top notch practice facilities in great order, historical Pechanga Indian Tule houses and 1,000 year old California coastal oak trees on property. Pristine greens rolled like putting on sloped ice, traps looked great with interesting designs, soft sand and high banks, fairways great, 17/18 tee boxes looked great (copper tees). Forced carry drives are challenging here with afternoon mountain winds (slope rating plays more in mid-upper 140s) and several narrow driving windows, so bring A++ game. Scenic views and a pretty landscape, high quality groundskeepers on par with Maderas, clubhouse looked very nice.

Journey
Really enjoy this course. Lots of tee boxes to choose from and condition was fantastic!
Excellent
Beautiful course, will definitely play again. There was a twosome holding up play surprisingly, on the last few holes.
