fun and challenging layout, but punched greens
This course is a lot of fun, with several elevated tees and some great views. The biggest downside was the greens had been aerated recently and were very bumpy. I realize all courses need to do this, but they should let golfers know before we pay $160 to play. Very disappointed.
Another great time
Staff as usual was very friendly from pro shop, cart staff to starter. I got there 1.5 hours early and they were very accomodating in getting me out within 45 minutes. Overall course was in good shape but I was hoping the greens would have been in a little better shape after punching 10 days earlier. They were much slower which made lag patting easier but it was hard to make anything within 15'. The layout is breathtaking and the afternoon wind makes the course very challenging.
This course is beautiful, green and unbelievable views. It was in meticulous shape. The golf cart was so comfortable. We would definitely play this course again. I recommend having lunch beforehand..great food eith great views
Lack of info
I’ve played Journey 7-8 times and it’s always nice. I purchased this tee time through golf now and didn’t know they just punched the greens. It was on the page you pay for it on at the top rather small. It should be on the page when you select the course, I feel like it used to be. The price wasn’t discounted either, a low rate might have gave me a hint something was up. Layout is fun, $130 is steep, but cheaper than a nice place in OC. The gps is good except you have to touch the screen at least twice a hole to get rid of ads or other useless information. Super annoying, I know you have a snack bar! Still a fun play, just make sure you look close to notifications. I usually don’t think of punched greens the last week in May either.
Terrific layout, with beautiful views.
Rating would have been a 5 but the greens were recently punched and heavily sanded and there was no indication of this when booking online. Was very disappointed after driving an hour and 15 mins. to play and probably would have gone to another course if I had known the conditions. This was my 3rd time playing here in the last 3 months and have thoroughly enjoyed the layout and scenic views etc. and the people are exceptional so will probably play here again, but will call to be sure the course is not in a state of maintenance!
Spectacular views
The elevation changes and views are amazing. I was informed that the greens had been recently aerated so the condition of the greens was not a surprise. The layout is awesome, but pretty hard. Be prepared to lose a lot of golf balls of you don't hit it straight off the tee. There are 300+ foot elevation changes from tee to fairway.
Excellent Golf Experience!
The Journey is a unique layout with many challenging and unusual holes. Bring your A game because you will need to hit it accurately and putt and chip well on the undulating greens. Course conditions are excellent. The carts, range, chipping areas and associated facilities are fantastic. Staff is friendly and accommodating. This is a great course to play and look for a deal since green fees are high as compared to other area courses.
Pristine conditions
From the time you checkin , the service, views etc are top notch. Starters name is Vince and his customer service is great. Conditions of the course are close to resort level currently. Had a great time and recommend to anyone in the area to check it out.
First Class
Very pricey but when the rounds are less than 4.5 hours, it’s probably worth it. The conditions are impeccable and there is no better customer service with the exception of lugging your own bags down to the carts.
The course has amazing views and a variety of challenging holes. A bit of a workout when you’re over 70 years old!
Great course/staff! Player beware!
The course is in outstanding condition! Fairways are green and greens are fast but not ridiculous! If looking for a course that is worth the price but challenging enough to take all your golf balls, then hit this course up!
I lost almost four sleeves of balls but I did not play very well at all!
Staff members are great! Course is in top condition right now so go to this course; you will not be disappointed!
Great course make sure you play from appropriate tees. If can ge a real challenge
Pace of play got very slow on second nine
Needs better marshaling
Not impressed
Its hard to explain but I really dislike this course. It tends to get really windy after bout 11am and it has too many weird holes. there are a few with tee shots that are elevated above the fairways that make the holes seem more like a trick shot than a good golf shot. I've played it twice and for $150-200 a round Id rather play other courses. Its well kept and te staff is amazing and for the fun of making the over-the-top tee shots everyone should paly it at least once, but for me Im doe with this place at hose prices. Ill drive an hour more out to PGA West and play a real course for $200 a pop.
