Great course and staff
Amazing course, really nice. Most nice courses can be frustrating playing as a 20’s handicap but this one is relatively forgiving. The staff was extremely friendly.
I left a club on a hole and it was given to the clubhouse. The clubhouse was closed by the time I got there but the general manager James went through a lot to make sure I got my club back because he knew I lived in Santa Cruz. He drove down, unlocked it, had an alarm issue while unlocking it but he was the most concerned about me getting my club before heading home. Very nice guy, and nice staff overall.
Pace of play was good and comfortable, the people I was paired up with were members and really good guys to play with. Overall great experience
Great course conditions
One of the best conditioned courses I have played. Fairways were great
Fantastic course
Quail Lodge is a fun layout with a lot of nice views. The course is in fantastic shape and the greens are quick and smooth. Highly recommend playing here if you get the chance. Only thing that could improve is to have ice in the coolers on the carts to save golfers the time and hassle of getting ice.
Excellent Course Condition
The course is somehow narrow and short but very challenging, greens are impecable and well receiving
Great conditions
Two thumbs up. Great conditions, true greens and a nice layout. Par 71, but all the par 3’s are tough.
Nice to see the crew out taking care of the small stuff.
Spectacular course! Very scenic and perfectly challenging. The biggest difficulty was figuring out the greens. They are the fastest greens of any course I have ever golfed.
Definitely play this course
We found a Hot Deal price which made our decision to play this course. The staff from the pro shop to the starter and cart attendants were all very professional and courteous. The course was in excellent condition and pace of play was good. We happened to have perfect weather, which also contributed to a great day of golf. I would highly recommend playing here, especially if you can find a Hot Deal to make it more affordable.
The Jasmine was in Bloom at The Quail
I was able to purchase a deal time through tee off.com to afford a late morning Thursday round at Quail Lodge GC. It was a treat for me, and I found the grounds to be in immaculate shape. The grounds were filled with blossoming shrubs and vines. The weather was stunning. A great round of golf.
Underwhelmed
I was looking forward to playing Quail. Sadly, my experience was underwhelming. The pro shop made errors with my tee time and tried to charge me at a higher rate, all while being less than enthusiastic about my patronage. The starter appeared to be confused about my tee time as well. I was sent out solo with a foursome in front of me and a twosome on my heels who kept hitting into me but wouldn’t join me. The beverage cart never made an appearance despite being told it was on the course. Most importantly, the quality of the course was fine but certainly not interesting enough to warrant and second chance. I’ll be headed back to Carmel Valley Ranch next time I’m in town.
