Opening Day 5/23/2025

Valet Josiah was great. Very friendly and helpful . Fairways and tees were good condition. Only 13 holes were open. None of the greens were in good condition. Management should be embarrassed to open a course in this condition. Fair price would be 20$ walking, 30$ riding or don’t open until the course is in playable conditions and that means the putting greens since that is the most impotent part of the game

Course in average condition

Overall, the course was in bad conditions, with carpets being used for some tee-offs, and fairways in bad shape.

Course conditions poor

I have played Squaw Creek/Everline numerous times. This is the first time that the overall course conditions were poor. Bunkers were primarily dirt with little sand, tee boxes had not turf. Greens were ok. Pace of play was slow. Had to skip two holes because of extremely slow groups playing a n older couples scramble. It is definitely not worth $100+ for the regular green fee. Pro shop folks were pleasant. No course Marshalls monitoring speed of play. Disappointing experience due to course conditions and deterioration over prior years.

Beautiful and challenging

This was a hard course. The fairways are very narrow and if you go off of them, the ball is gone forever. The fairways are very well maintained and the greens are fast.

Terrible condition in peak summer

At a time of year when all other courses in the area are in peak condition, Everline is just terrible. They don’t charge much for a course in this area, but they should still be embarrassed to charge $100/round for the shape it is in. The tee blocks are poor quality sand (they even have you hitting off a mat on one of them if you can believe that). Almost all the bunkers are overgrown and marked as ground under repair. The greens are marred. It seems like they aren’t doing any upkeep at all. This used to be a really beautiful course. It really is a shame.

On a positive note, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Beware

Course is barely playable. Dead spots everywhere. Was told by staff parking for golf was free but had to pay $150 to get my car out of the lot. Staff refused to assist when I tried to resolve the issue.

Everline is downgraded from Squaw Creek

I have played this course several times, but this is the first time since it changed from Squaw Creek to Everline. The changes are not positive.

Always a challenging layout, but the course is not in good shape. Many of the greens look like grandma’s patchwork quilt the way they have been patched. The bunkers are all under repair, fairways are fair at best and on one tee box you had to hit off of mats! Pace of play was great because the course was empty.

For $40 on Golf Now it’s a bargain compared to $90 the course was charging.

Needs work

They were working to get a new sprinkler system and that should help but the course has been let go. The layout and the setting were great.

Natural Beauty

Lots of interesting holes with a variety of challenges. Take what the course gives you and you will enjoy the course and the views!! Windy conditions made it more challenging than the ratings. Worth the fees for sure!

Worse Course ever played!

The course is in terrible condition: tee boxes, fairways, greens and bunkers are all in terrible condition. I feel the online information should indicate the course conditions more honestly. The proshop staff were less than friendly. $80 a round is a total rip off. Don’t play here if you have any other options. They should refund fees do to condition of the course. When asked the response was “It was a tough winter”. Yet the other mountain course are in terrific shape comparably.

Scenic and Challenging

The pro shop staff gave me some really excellent advice about playing there for the first time. Many of the par 4s and 5s are slightly shorter than the average. However, out of bounds due to the wetlands and forest flanking both sides of the narrow course make it extremely challenging. In most cases it would be better to use your most accurate clubs and not go for the distance on your first shot. Next time I will I will heed that advice even more. Normally I loose 0-2 balls per game. I lost 9 this time. The score sheet comes with handy diagrams showing the areas you are safe to land your shots. Several holes it is not a continuous fairway to the green. There are several water hazards throughout. This means many Canadian geese and other water fowl. Another plus.

The course itself needs a bit of work. Several areas are under repair. Some greens have about one quarter of the green with patched zones. That worked just fine. Due to the marsh many times you run along wooden cart paths that could use some attention. Knowing that area takes a beating during the winter it is all very understandable.

The scenic view looking over the majestic Palasades (Squaw Valley) mountain range from the mountain side and from the wetlands is one of the best. I walk a lot of courses but this one is almost 10 miles due to distance between holes. Add to that 350 feet elevation change. Glad I rode for a change.

If you like challenging courses this one is up there.

Tahoe's Worst

This course is located at a beautiful resort near Truckee, Ca and Lake Tahoe. We parked at Valet, but then had to carry our clubs through the lobby and down some back stairs to the golf shop because they claimed they didn't have any carts to help us. We reached the golf shop all excited to play this new course until the girl working behind the counter brought us down a notch. She acted as if she was being forced to work there and had a horrible attitude. Luckily, we ran into a very accommodating and friendly Croatian girl working at the starter's area. She helped getting us carts and gave us some tips about the course. The course looked beautiful from afar but turned out to be in terrible shape. Almost every sand trap was marked "ground under repair", the tee boxes were trash, and the greens needed a ton of help. With all the other courses in Truckee being so amazing, we couldn't believe the condition of this one. We did see a couple carts with maintenance workers in them, but they were just parked and on their phones the whole time. Lastly, they allowed kids on their electric scooters to roam the golf course and they were seen doing circles on several greens. Unbelievable. I don't recommend spending time or money at this one.

Course is not for Golfing

This course is not maintained to host golfers. I didn't realize as it's affiliated with Palisades (Squaw Valley) that this course has little to no maintain for the course. We expected better. Only the areas in the public view had been maintained. Golf paths out of public view were only dirt and rocks. Signage was lacking on the front nine (didn't make it to be back 9) Sand pits had no rakes because they were dirt pits with large corrugated piping coming out of them. Signed "Under Construction" at many of them. Many of the greens were not puttable but some closer to the main building were. At hole 6/7 we got attacked by swarms of crickets that got stuck on our clothes and flew everywhere our cart before we decided this course was not for us. My husband had one stuck in his shirt that jumped out in the lobby as we were getting change for valet. It was an experience. I don't believe we'll ever have another one like this again, golfing. Not at all what we expected.

Robert Trent Jones masterpiece

First time playing, expecting a total dog track based on reviews. The greens rolled incredibly well. 90% of the surfaces were pure bent grass. This course gets very little play, probably due to how difficult it is. Shooting a 70 from the tips with 29 putts. I think most of these bad reviews are from Sunday hacks upset that the course took their new dozen of pro v 1s. This course if a gem.

Back 9 conditions were horrible

Overall, the course was beautiful. They are facing some challenges though. I won’t hold the infestation of billions of grasshoppers against them, but the unplayable bunkers (some full of rocks, exposed drainage pipes, and lack of sand) is on them- as are the tee boxes on the back nine. I have played better tee boxes at “trailer park” par three courses. The resort is gorgeous. The quality of golf conditions in relation to the pricey greens fees? No good.

Challenging course in many ways

Course is not maintained. No grass on tee box. Green is all messed up. Course layout is good except for there is no room for error.

It’s not worth whatever green fee they charge.
