Reviews
The course and weather were both really good.
Overall the course was in good condition. The layout could be confusing to a first time player. We ran into a slow group the last 4 holes that we waited on but it didn't bother that much. The staff was very friendly and down to earth.
Not Worth The Drive
I found a tee time for Saturday morning while staying near Monterey and invited a friend to join me. Quite disappointed to find it was good part of an hour to get there and then course had been aerated and tee time hadn't noted that. Course was also in really rough shape. Lots of weeds and rough that balls got lost in. Local guys we played with were helpful or we would have been lost. They said course isn't worth $30. Especially disappointing after paying $20 for a great experience at Laguna Seca the day before!
Greens were super bumpy
Fairways were spotty lots of lies on dirt.
Green were recently aerated & super bumpy no mention of that at booking.
Golfer 2
This course is not the best of shape. I would give this course a score "C" because the way you have to navigate the course to play 18 holes. For the fees, I would expect a resort environment.
Exceptional value
At $25.00 incl cart this was a super special. Very friendly and accomodating staff. Course in great condition. Will be back.
This is still a fun course
I and my buddies have played this course before it was modified and a few times after. Like I said the course is still fun and nice but we don't like the way its now set up. There is no flow to it as you have to ride for long sections between holes and also cross some of the resident streets while playing the 18. We are just average golfers and really don't mind but we liked the way it was set up before. Staff is always friendly and the bar and restaurant are awesome. Great day!
6some played
This is not right to allow 6some two flights in a row.
Course in decent shape for all the rain
Greens and fairways are decent even with all the rain, good drainage to most of the course
Wet day but challenging
Good layout and has a unique design. After playing this course I would recommend using a GPS program as many holes have hidden hazards.
much better ground conditions than last year once greens are in condition will play more often
Worth the Drive
Ridgemark has always been a favorite. I have to admit I liked the Diablo side better than the Gabilan side before the consolidation. But they did a decent job of picking the holes for the new 18, even though they left out a few of my favorite holes in the process. It is still a challenging round with no two holes alike and maintained in a very good condition (given the drought and then the rain). For the price, I am happy to drive down from San Jose several times a year.
Do not play there
Absolute trash, do not play there... Greens are bumpy plus fairways look shredded...
Mostly Right
When they combined the two courses they selected a mixture of holes from each. They got it mostly right. I always preferred the Diablo course, and I would have used a few more of the better holes from that side. That being said, the new course is fun, challenging and playable. The restaurant has in the past been above average for a golf course venue and the service there is always good and friendly. They have had some pricing deals that have made it very attractive and worth the drive from the San Jose. I am happy to play there any time.
Excessive player
I have played the course alot and wish that the greens would be fixed. The greens have been in bad shape for far to long a time.
Coarse Course
Who ever said 1 is better than 2. Oh and getting rid of refreshment carts that sucks. Then close the refreshment stands that helps. I used to play there 3 times a month now I play 1 time every 3 months. I won't be renewing my membership there, is sad to think of the old days golfing there and looking at what hapend now.
