Amazing greens
Very challenging green complexes. Extra large greens with serval tiers and challenging putts for sure
Pretty fair and short course- fairways a bit brown / dormant however the play was still very enjoyable
Worth the drive for a new track
Breaking putts
Strength of this course is their greens. Lots of elevated and undulating greens. Traps were in great shape with lots of sand, you will need the bounce in your sand wedge to be effective.
Excellent round and value for money
Course in good shape. Pace was ok. All in all a pleasant Experience.
Nice place in Ramona.....
Nicest condition for a golf course i've seen all year......tough place though....sand is treacherous avoid at all costs.......greens are pretty speedy, don't hit it too hard....lots o humps and bumps, i don't think there's a straight putt on the course.........par 3's are long and tough....getting a 6+ is easy to do........if ya wanna challenge your game this is the place to go..........
Amazing vistas
Normally when I see the pictures on a golf course website they don’t truly reflect the reality, this is one time it did….. amazing golf course and beautiful views.
Very different. I loved it!
I played this course over 10 years ago and now it is very different. I was told that it went thru a remodeling. I simply loved it and it has become my favorite course in the area. Even though I live in Downtown San Diego, I will continue going all the way there.
Beautiful Course
The course looks absolutely beautiful. They have put a lot of work into this place over the last couple years and it shows. The GPS units on the carts are a great addition as well. I look forward to playing here again soon.
No Warning of Punched and Sanded Greens
Greens were punched and sanded over. No warning when booking on their website and charging full price. When I noticed the green conditions when we walked up, the pro shop staff was very rude and aggressively stated they’re charging full price regardless. We drove 45 mins to get there so we were going to play regardless…I think they bank on that since they’re way out there.
The starter was allowing twosomes to go out because they didn’t want to play with others so we teed off late and pace was painfully slow. Marshall wasn’t doing anything to move things along and questioned our group for playing the black tees when we were waiting several minutes between every shot. He recommended we skip a few holes and jump in where there was a gap…which is what he’s supposed to be what preventing as the course marshall. I liked the layout and would have liked to play their normal greens but they really need to fix their operation.
Great course!
Fast greens! Course is in great shape. One of the nicest tracks I’ve played in SD. Will definitely be back!
Getting better
Played on football Sunday which thinned out the crowds a little. About 5hrs starting from noon. The course has gotten better since the beginning of the year. (The other twosome ith me said San V is in better condition than Maderas!)
Fairways are above avg. Greens are true, fast, and goofy.....prices are in par with other courses in its category....
