Not the gem we thought
Heard this place was a real gem and it was anything but. The entire course was rough. Patchy hard fairways, greens where ok on some holes. Most of the course feels like a ran down municipal but municipal courses are in better shape. Not like the photos but everywhere is blond right now. This wasn’t the great course we wanted and expected. Won’t be back for a while if ever
Xmas eve shotgun start
We started off at the 14th hole. Interesting way and different. Course was in good condition, greens were good , yet some were water logged. It's definitely a drive, worth it on occasion. Course is tough , yet not overly tough. Staff was great.
Hidden gem
First time at San Vicente and got paired with 3 locals. The coolest golfers I’ve been paired with ever. Fun day. Every hole was different and unique. Greens were beautiful. This place was awesome!
Great Value, Fun Time
We had a great round at San Vicente on a Sunday afternoon. We did tee off about 30 minutes late which put us in danger of not completing 18 holes (we did, but just barely) but after that we had a fun time.
Course is in good condition, especially the bunkers and greens. Not too many bare spots. Ramona is a tough environment to maintain a course perfectly throughout but I thought it was solid and a lot better than some others I've played recently in the East County.
At $28 this was unbeatable.
Really nice course
Really nice course, 3rd time playing, pace of play was slow.
First time, and not my last...
I was really happy coming here, even though the ride is through a winding road, lots of curves and slow pace, but the course was worth it. We are coming back on the first week of 2018 again.
Greens in great condition, fairways pretty well maintained even though some areas were dry like most courses in California, but it was a good experience.
Great Course
This course is well kept with excellent greens. I recommend this course and will be back to
Play again
Wonder Golf course . . a must play
We really enjoyed our first ever round of golf at San Vicente golf course.
A really nice course with nice people.
If you are looking for a hidden gem . . . . this is it.
Fun day of golf
Course is in good shape, with just a few places under repair. The course layout is odd on some holes and require careful shot placement off the tee. All in all, it was a great day.
Getting there
It is a nice course mainly because of the difference in each hole. The course requires some work and it appears that they are doing that. Three or four of the greens had a problem around the edges, but overall they were in good condition, even a little on the fast side. Overall, an interesting course.
A must play Course
This is one of my favorite tracks in East County. Tucked in the Country Estates of Ramona, a great tough course. Good Fairways and Greens.... Staff is very friendly also..... Highly recommend
Nice layout and setting, worth the drive
First time playing here. Staff was excellent and helpful. Enjoyed the course layout. Need to have all shots on the course. Pace of play was slow. Could use a course ranger to keep pace of play moving. We had an 8-some in front of us. Yes, I said eight some with dad's teaching their kids how to play. I'm glad they got out to play, maybe a holiday Friday wasn't the best timing. Yes, I would still play here again. The course condition and layout was that good!
Well worth it.
Definitely love the layout. The greens vary from hole to hole. Pace for a early Sunday afternoon wasn't bad at all.
I would recommend and play this golf course again.
great golf course. challenging and fun to play the course
Always love playing the course. Great value and the staff is great. Challenging course.
Too much water
I know it has been warm, but drowning the course is nonsense. Tees were very patchy, fairways too spongy, greens way too soft and way too slow. This was a very good course last year, but it has turned into a poorly conditioned course. It takes more than water and mowing to make a golf course. I was disappointed earlier this spring as well. I am not sure I will be back.
Marco
Nice track, I'm sure when they get their greens the way they want them , it's going to be excellent! Looking forward to playing there again.
