Bonaventure Resort & Spa

I played Bonaventure quite a few times years ago and remembered it as an excellent laid out course in great condition. Unfortunately now the condition of the course is terrible. What grass there is on the fairways in burnt to a crisp and the greens are in terrible condition with large chunks of grass missing all over them. It looks like they have an issue with the greens as there are 3 being relayed when we played.

Such a shame about the condition of what could be a fantastic golf course. Only the bright side the staff were excellent

Do not waste your money on this one.

greens, fairways, tees all in bad shape

They don't even water the fairways !

Course is a cow pasture not worth the money.

They keep saying they're working on it but they don't even water the fairways.

Maybe someday it will be restored to its former greatness....

The course conditions are very bad. What a waste of a great layout golf course.

3 of 18 were temp greens & not at all nice to putt on. Course had a nice layout & lots of challenges but was not well maintained overall. Shouldn’t be charging full price for this type of play.

Not sure why ppl are giving this course 4 stars but in my experiences it’s not close to 4 stars. I will not play again.

This must have been awesome in its hey day, a Joe Lee design. The waterfall par three might be one of the most iconic gimmicky holes of all time. The course has been left to the Iguanas, literally. As a PGA professional who has managed a struggling operation, I get budget constraints. What baffles me here is a golf course with such potential in this affluent community and being in such a state of decay? I can only ask why? Maintain it and they will come is my motto…and you will profit…it is the complete no-brainer of all time!

The layout of the course is excellent , but a very poor maintenance, the greens are terrible, the tee boxes so bad, cant see the difference between the fairway and rough… this course will be amazing with a good maintenance

This course used to be one the nicest places to play in south Florida but it has fallen into such disrepair it really is sad. You can see how unique and well designed the holes are but it is in just terrible condition from tee to green.

The staff was very nice and helpful but that only goes so far when you have sand patches , dead spots and St. Augustine grass on the greens and fairways.

Very nice staff. Gave us a discount because greens are in need of repair. Staff told us new crew starting this week. Will come back after they repair the greens.

Course was in terrible condition. Some of the greens were unplayable. Sand traps had not been maintained, and it was very difficult understanding where the fairways started and stopped.

The layout would be nice if they maintained it or perhaps even mowed the grass.

Just a terrible experience.
