Bonaventure Golf Club

Played Twilight ln a Friday, was able to get in 15 holes in 3 Hours for 45$. Staff were incredibly friendly and nice. Pace of play was a little slower than I would have preferred but not bad for a twilight round. Greens were in great condition as well as the fairways, tee boxes could have used a little bit of love but more than acceptable for the price of the course. Great layout, lots of water and hole design that require shot shaping. Course was difficult but fair. Will definitely play again.

I come almost every year to Vacation Village

For many years I played at least twice per week

However last couple years I skipped

I’m glad I went and may play again thanks for improvement

These 4 star reviews don’t know where they come from because the course is pretty bad shape with tee box’s being mud and the pace of play taking 5 hours per round

the course was fine for the price, but they did not serve any food on the course (I mean not even a bag of chips at the halfway, clubhouse or cart girl) it was ridiculous. Took nearly 4 hours to play 14 holes and then we left because we were starving and sick of waiting. Will not be going back. Pack your own lunch.

Last played here a year or so ago when it was being renovated, and 2 or 3 years ago it was just awful completely neglected cow pasture.

What an improvement! The course is now in respectable shape with good greens and tee boxes. There are only a few areas of hardpan in a couple of fairways on the back 9, but everything else was well grassed even in cold dormant weather and played well. Most bunkers were renovated with that sinking soft silty sand but there were a few fairway bunkers that were hardpan-ish with firm rake lines. Greens were tricky to read break and hard to judge pace. They rolled about an 8 for us even though they looked faster.

The course is still pretty tough with a lot of water. Almost every tee shot is hit fairway vs hit water. The water hazards are all steeply dredged deep, so you'll never retrieve any ball that goes in, even if it just barely falls in.

Other positives: Girl at bag drop was super friendly and actually greeted us and helped us out. She must have been a golfer because she actually put the bag on the cart and strapped it in without trapping our towels and zippers and stuff. Pro shop guy was friendly. Staff changed at bag drop when we finished and the boys were also nice and friendly.

Negatives: No food anywhere. Not inside and not with cart girl. Cart girl was friendly but kind of drove with the groups instead of driving from 18-->1. Figured we would see her again around the turn but only was able to get something to drink by hole 16. Once they improve the snack and drink situation, this place could get regular play again.

Would definitely come back and try it again.

The pace of play was so slow we decided to stop after 9. We were pacing around 5.5 - 6 hours. Never again.
