Palmer at its finest
Great place to play. This time of year it's hard to find a cours in excellent condition so the grass was not number one. But the layout and design is outstanding. Shot above average but was pleased. Great place to play.
Overrated
Expecting a 4 star course, but it was closer to a 2 star rating. Driving range was hard packed. Fairways were burnt and hard packed also. Practice putting green was in great shape, but that was the best green we putted on all day. Most of the greens have issues. On a positive note the sand traps and waste areas were acceptable. Pace of play was slower than average. Approx 5:15 for the round. Even one of the rangers was very apologetic about the condition of the course. It appears that the current management does not want to put any serious money into it. Course has a very interesting layout. This was the last course we played on during our vacation and it was by far the worst.
Nice somewhat challenging course
Beautiful scenery. Enjoyed the wildlife viewing. Tough, yet enjoyable course. Very friendly staff and customers. Enjoyed the round.
Course needs lot of work
Tee-box are not flat. Lot of area has no grass, especially near the green at few holes' greens. The course management needs more maintenances.
Find another course...until thry find water for the greens and fairways
Expected more. Almost as if the course was experiencing a drought. Tees, fairways, aprons were all below acceptability. Potential for an outstanding course is there...they just need to take care of it.
Nice course
The layout is very good, the course was good but fairways are a little thin and the greens had a few bad spots. Overall it was an enjoyable round.
This course needs work
Although the layout is very nice, this course was certainly not what we expected. The course was very dried out and the greens were horrible and slow. We were 15 minutes late trying to find the place was not worth the $47 we paid for green fees. With added maintenance and attention to detail, this course could be a nice attraction, but right now i would not recommend.
Would 100% go back
Love this course. Everything about it. Love Orange Lakes Courses.
Great course
Great course. Great layout. Everything about the Orange Lakes courses are great. We've played there 3 years in a row now (From Mass)
Arnie passed away and his course at Orange Lake is next
Well, what to say. Played this course many times in the last 10 years. Used to be one of my favorites, anywhere. Probably played it for the last time today. It's on a steady decline, and has hit bottom. Course condition was wretched. We got an excuse about the bad timing of an overseeding project. Not buying it. That can't explain the weeds and numerous dead spots in the greens. Huge bare spots on tee boxes which are now uneven and lumpy. Bunkers with too much sand some with barely any. At two points carts were being directed to drive over the red tee boxes which looked like cart path anyway. No one to greet you. No one at the finish. Half stocked pro shop. Nearly Out of range balls and out of one bucket we did get we pulled out 10 that had covers coming off them. Found 2 ballwashers on the course and no beverage cart. Top that off with scorecards printed on site on cheap paper with an ink jet printer and you've got nothing more than low level muni. Bottom line don't play it at any rate. Too many good options out there.
Over priced for what you get.
I can not believe the condition of the fairways and greens, poor for both. I have played $40 courses near here that are better condition.
Shame to see as I always found this track a step above but no longer.
One of the better ones.
This was our third course this week. It had a few dryer fairways which made wedges difficult arround the greens. Overall, the course was in good shape and would definitely play again.
Great Layout and Challenging
The course is in fair condition. Greens need work and the fairways are very dry and in need of overseeding. The most negative aspect of this course is that there are too many non-golfers walking the cart paths while you are trying to play. The course needs to be managed better to keep residents and other non-golfers off the course while golf is being played.
Good course for the money
I've played this course before and the pace of play was better in November it was slower this time. Always enjoy it though. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Not worth full fare course fee.
Unless you get on discount, paying full fare is not worth it. Greens were a mess, not from drought, but animal and poor maintainence.
Needs water
The fairways are brown and cut o the dirt. It would be nice to have some grass under your ball.
