Overall just ok
Course conditions were above average, off course amenities were below average. Not worthy of charging $120 for a tee time.
Beautiful and difficult course
This is a beautiful course with a good layout. It is very difficult because of water on 16 holes. It also has maybe 40 sand traps. But they have various tee levels which allow the player to choose a tee that would be challenging and still fun. I chose tee 2 which is pretty standard white tee. It is not terribly long but you must be accurate with your yee shot and approach. They also included a small bag of range balls to use on the driving range which is very close to the first tee. That was a nice touch. They also provided me with a course map that indicated the yardage from the tee boxes to the 150 yard marker. That was very helpful and also a nice touch. Would certainly recommend this to anyone, although the cost is higher than any course I have played previously.
STORM, TOTAL WASH OUT
Got to play only 9 holes and then the storm and wind came....I was totally soaked....
Great course!
Everything was great but greens haven’t quite healed from aeration. I suspect they will be fine in a couple more weeks.
Dumb struck
My best friend and I decided on this course for our vacation tee time and it did not disappoint. Hard to pick what made it the best from the great staff, the beautiful course lay out, or the amenities given included in your price.
Best golf in Panama City
Extremely challenging course with tremendous history.
Underwhelming to say the least
Overall the conditions were extremely average and more resembled a $40 course. The layout was cool, but the clubhouse is old and the attendant was not friendly. Divots and sand were everywhere and almost all the holes were punched improperly. I will not be back.
Overall Nice Course
The staff is friendly and helpful! Had a good lunch at the 19th hole. Pro shop had a nice selection of men’s and women’s attire. Received a small complimentary bag of range balls. Driving range didn’t have grass to hit off but you could use woods and drivers. The Marshall wasn’t present to monitor tee times, which I believed cause major delays on the course. The course was in good shape and there were several challenging holes. The greens were smooth but slow. I did enjoy view of the bay. The cart girl came by numerous times, which was nice since we didn’t pass the club house at the turn. The group ahead of us wouldn’t let us play through, so after 4 hours to reach the 12th hole I quit. Due to the slow play I’m not sure I would play it again this time of the year. Otherwise, it is a nice course.
Waited out the rain
Great deal on the green fee, $80 off the current regular rate. Green fees in PCB have gotten crazy with inflation and after losing three courses from Hurricane Michael. I don’t think I would pay regular rate to play. That said, people do.
Course was in good shape, just wet from rain storm. We waited out the storm and had the course to ourselves. Completed round in 3 1/2 hours. Drained and dried well. By the fifth hole, I don’t recall seeing and causal water.
All of the staff were friendly and accommodating.
Only knock was no warm up. I thought range balls were included, but there were no balls on the range. That may have been due to the rain though. We didn’t go back to ask, just started cold.
I would definitely play again with the reduced rate, otherwise I’ll let the visitors enjoy it.
