Bay Point Resort - Nicklaus Course

Course needs work. Bare spots in fairways and around walk off areas. Poor maintenance overall. Greens were as fast a shag carpet.... not good at all. Looks like they have some disease, as well as bare spots and weeds growing in on most of the 18 greens. Solid layout that needs some love to bring it back.

Course was beautiful and well taken care of. LOTS OF WATER! Scenic and a lot of fun.

Greens had been aerated and sanded/shelled. Lots of repair being done around the course forcing tee boxes to be moved/modified. In a few cases actually teeing off from bare dirt. Layout is outstanding, but conditions are not worth the cost. It should be no more than $75 in this case. Putting is a mystery with these greens and the blend(not intentional) of grasses.

Poanna grass sprigs all over the greens, made them bumpy, tee boxes under repair and or getting resodded.

Bunkers i were in were not consistant, different types of sand. For the normal rate of $130 i would not pay that much for this course. This is much like a higher end municipal golf course just with jack nicklaus's name on it. It was in better shape 30 years ago as the lagoon legend

The course was not in great condition. Fairways were ok but some greens thick with poa annua. Staff nice and helpful. Cart girl great! Play was very slow - waited on a lot of shots. It’s a lot of money for that quality of course but not a lot of other great options in that area.

We have played here several times and pace of play is slow. A group in front of us let 3 groups including ourselves to play through. We have become used to the fact that you don’t end up at the clubhouse after 9 holes. So, make sure you get drinks early. They do have QR.code and a golf cart this time of year.

One thing that was odd was that there was several boys around 12 years that came out of the clubhouse area into the parking lot with e-bikes. Later, there was one riding his E-bike on the golf cart.

Course layout and views were nice, the greens and fairways were pretty bad for a fairly expensive course.

Ha - just kidding, but not really. Water on 16 out of 18 holes and sand traps right in the middle of the fairways..but course is not in good shape. Fairways are barely covered with fillers everywhere. Greens were very inconsistent and no chance to get the feel of the course. Listen, it’s an average course and has some beautiful scenery, but $280 for two of us? Ummmm, no, but because it’s only one of three really local to PCB, I’m sure visitors will continue to visit.

For the price of the round I felt that the greens and course could have been in better shape. Dead spots and weeds gave uneven putts.

Good value when you get a Golf now deal

Fun course. Very playable. Need to play it twice to know the greens and approaches. Friendly staff well conditioned for the time of year I was there.

Very dry course conditions, grass not growing yet, no GPS on carts, not worth the cost.
