Rough shape
First clue was how many open tee times there were on a weekend!
Nice people, and they seem to be trying, but the course conditions have gone way down hill since last year. Every green has massive dead dirt sports painted green, po is rampant, and the traps are filled but the sand is tough to play from, just piles of that “sugar sand”.
Was hopeful with the demise of the second course, they would have spent some $$ here, but beyond basics they are not .
Holes 4 and 5 are still great holes!
Uuuggghhh
Greens in less than average condition.
Fairways were in average condition. Not the Nicklaus course it used to be.
This course not worth the money
As a golf professional and for the price there is no way i could recommend this course. Course layout is nice. However the greens are in terrible shape and the fairways have no grass on them. The nicest thing on the course are the bunkers. Here is a tip to superintendent. Every hole has water on it. find a way to water your course.
Greens
We've played Baypoint many times but this is our first time this year. The greens are in terrible shape. I don't know if this is seasonal or the beginning of trouble with the greens, but this is not in line with a course that costs $100 + a round.
Nice layout
More difficult than your average resort course. Lots of trouble but fair and playable. Great layout, but still in the hustle and bustle of the city. The shop staff hadn’t shown up when I got there so it was kinda a mess to get checked in. Overall was nice course.
Challenging course with good views
It rained pretty hard the night before, but the course dried out by 11:30, and played really well. A lot of water, and if you buy WW balls like I do (woods and water) make sure you bring plenty of extras.
Love it
The day we played there was 20 mph winds and gusts to 30+. The playing conditions chewed us up but we still had a great time.
Loved this course.
Got lost a few times! Signage could be better. Long long course for women. Found it a bit pricey for the area but overall we loved it.
We had never been there before and had no idea where the first hole was. Had to ask cart guys. Otherwise it was a beautiful course.
Poor Green Conditions
Played this course last year during an annual group outing. Course was great, but challenging so we tried it again this week.
The overall course condition was VERY disappointing....especially at the price of $105. I've seen municipal courses in better condition for less money. The greens were in terrible condition...brown spots and grass plugs all over. In fact, there wasn't one green in good condition on the entire course. The tee boxes and fairways were not much better. Bottom line, not what we expected for $105 on a Jack Nicklaus branded course.
Suffice to say, we won't be back next year.
Beautiful course
Well worth the money. Great shape. What a challenge. Don’t miss playing this one.
