Shingle Creek's par-4 12th is one of the new holes, which Thad Layton and team knitted adeptly into the existing course. Big fan of this bunker cluster. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 10/27/2017

Nice Course, but Getting Very Pricey
Shingle Creek has been one of our Go To golf courses during our annual trip to Orlando. It's close, the facilities are nice with range balls included in the green fee, decent short game area and nice putting practice area, and nice clubhouse facilities. Probably the closest I know of being at a private club at a public venue around Orlando without staying there (aka Bay Hill). Two complaints. The price has constantly gone up and now close to $200 per person. That's pretty pricey even for a nice course and setting. Second complaint is that some of the angulation of the greens are ridiculous. On one hole I was below the hole left about 25 feet, there was an elephant buried between me and the hole. Impossible to putt up the crown of the bump to get it close. My buddy was 20 years shot of the hole right and got closer to the hole. Good shots should be rewarded.
Nice course
Course is nice but a little pricey. There are better courses in the area for less money
(ie. Celebration)
Poor
No one cared regarding pace of play.
Teed off at 3.30pm thinking plenty of time to get round before light fails.
Standing on the 16th tee at 8pm had to come in!
The pace of play was pathetic and condition of course wasn’t great.
Never again
Great layout and conditions
This time of year, you’re gonna have to pay for excellent conditions. I’ve payed less for better but not this time of year. The staff was friendly and on point. We pushed off second in am and were directed off back. After several holes my group was running a little sluggish so I skipped ahead and had a peaceful round of fade/draw game to myself. Finished my round in 2.5 hrs. Beautiful time of year to play golf in Florida.
OK Course, Good Condition Humps and Bumps Greens But Expensive
Single Creek is in good condition and “free” range balls are nice but at $190 it’s steep. I dislike the large humps and bumps on the green. You hit what appears to be a good shot only to find a huge mound between the ball and hole making it impossible for a birdie much less to get the ball close. I would go back but there’s better value around.
Very slow
If you want to play a 5 hour round on a mediocre golf course, this is it.
Fun course to play
Course was great to play! The proshop staff was amazing, but there was a large group event being played so the pace of play wasn’t great.
Tried to get lunch before the round but the dining rooms speed made it a rush to warm up and get to the tee box on time. Next time I’d skip the dining room before the round to avoid that challenge, as we were at the course 1.5 hours early.
Great course; terrible pace
We were on track for a 6 hour round when we stopped after 9 holes. Course was in very good shape; greens were medium speed. There was a slow group of 28 players which made for a very slow round.
Shingle Creek
Played Shingle Creek a number of times previously and overall really like what is effectively a hotel resort course.
The facilities are generally good and starts with a bag drop/complimentary valet. The staff are generally fairly good but depends who is working and if you get an offer for let or self park.
The practice range is good with limitless balls provided and hitting off turf.
Overall the course is a nice design with water coming into play on a lot of holes. There are a number of tee options ranging from sub 6000 yards to nearly 7000 yards so good options for most golfers.
The greens were fairly quick and the grain provides a challenge for those not used to Bermuda greens.
Overall I would recommend this course as a good option to play but several slight frustrations to highlight.
the first is the cost, its a reasonable course but the main tee times were getting up to $200 - $250, factor in tips, drinks and it starts to get fairly expensive and not sure its worth that. Managed to find some reduced afternoon tee times at around $150 which felt like better value.
The other frustration is there is a total lack of rangers on the course which means you are likely to have some delays as they let anyone play irrespective whether they can hit a golf ball or not. For the money they charge they should have rangersd moving slow groups along or asking them to leave the course if they can't play in a reasonable time.
The first time we played we were trying to get in before dark and the group ahead had lost a number of holes and were totally oblivious to stopping groups from getting a full round in because of there slow play. We finished in the dark but the presence of an on course ranger would have sorted this out and made for a much better experience for all.
The next time we played we got the second tee and had a long wait to the off and had up to four groups playing some holes.
Overall lovely course that is poor condition but needs improved management.
Great course friendly staff good quality rentals
I had a great time playing here. Course in challenging, not very difficult fairways, but challenging approaches and greens. Very very fast and lot of breaks. Very difficult to score fewer putts.
Great quality rentals, but I missed a lob wedge.
Overall great golfing here
