Shingle Creek's par-4 12th is one of the new holes, which Thad Layton and team knitted adeptly into the existing course. Big fan of this bunker cluster. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 10/27/2017

18th bunker and green Photo submitted by REFRUG on 07/06/2014
Greens were being worked on which we had been advised of. It was never mentioned we would be playing the front nine twice which was quite annoying!!! Offered not to play but already there and had paid a taxi up at that stage. Course is good but tee boxes are shocking. Hard to gauge the greens with the work going on. Played this years ago and it is worth a visit when works are finished
Total embarrassment
Other than a complimentary valet who doesn’t do anything but raise the gate for you to self park and carry your own clubs and a guy in the pro shop who thinks phone call guests take precedence over actually face to face guests, I saw no other staff members all day not even concessions or cart girl. The course doesn’t advertise the greens were just punched and the back nine is closed so you play the front twice in horrible condition. I would be ashamed and embarrassed if I recommended this course to anyone. There was no warning the course was punched or that it’s only 9holes
Course is not playable at this time
It was frustrating, I got to the course and the pro shop did not tell us about the course condition. No practice greens, they were closed and the backnine was closed for repair. The starter told us to play the first nine twice because the back nine was closed.
If I knew that before I did not book to play there.
Birdie
Would’ve given a better review but was not told that the fairways AND greens had been punched on the front side and the back side was CLOSED and could not even play it! Was not told ANY of that.
Aerification Alert
Turned up for my game today after booking on GN at the weekend to be told that due to maintenance the front nine was closed and we’d be playing back nine twice. No warning of such was mentioned whilst booking which is absolutely shocking - this is no way to treat the paying public!! To make matters worse it appeared that they did not reduce the number of tee times available to allow for those returning to the 10th tee - spent the whole round waiting to play shots and got to know the group ahead as we met them waiting on every tee!!
In spite of this the back nine is a good layout with some nice holes with greens fast and in good condition
Poor service - not worth $90
Slow slow play, no course marshal available. Save your money. Not worth it
Average at best
Considering some of the reviews to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Just a golf course at best, greens were patchy and looked like they needed a drink and some TLC. Facilities are excellent and the staff are great.
Awesome Links Style
Beautiful course, layout, and surprisingly forgiving aside from a few holes. The greens were absolutely insane.. We were warned about an open qualifier and that they were prepping for that, so they were fassssst. One of my favorite course I’ve played in Florida (35ish).
I booked the times for around 1:12 pm months in advance because I knew we were going to be in town. We weren’t told at check in that we were pushed back because of a tournament before us, so when we got to the starter and ready to play, he told us our times were a half hour later.
Luckily, we were the first group out after the tournament finished and breezed through our round, only catching up to a group on the last 3 holes.
Fantastic course…
Confused
I come here once a year , I’m from out of state! Normally it’s in better shape, but last year and this year it’s in bad shape! The other golfer and I were really surprised that two years in a row like this ! the fairways are all but mud , and the greens had actual patches of grass growing on them ???? it was as if the laborers didn’t want to do any work and then I literally got followed around for nine holes!!!! Yes nine! The gentleman I golfed with was also from out of state his name was Jim and it was his first time and I actually kept him this is a beautiful course but by whole four I said I have no idea what this place is doing and why these workers are doing this to us ??? the funny part was I was actually trying to stick up for this place with the guys cutting the lawn and stuff in front of us I even took pictures and sent again I could not believe they were doing this
Steamy day
It was hot but when you are playing a beautiful course like this you take in the moment. Superb course. Thanks to all who make this place what it is, a great golf venue.
Round on the 16th
The course was in pristine conditions, the greens were exceptional, had to be at least 10 or 11 on Stimp. All Postitive. Some pins weren't realistic for a resort course. It felt like on several holes we were playing in the club championship. Lastly, OVER BOOKED, OVER BOOKED, OVER BOOKED. Besiides the 5 plus hour round everything else was great.
High Handicappers beware!
This may be a resort course, but fast firm fairways, lots of water and large undulating greens make it a real challenge. Best to not keep score so you can fully appreciate the layout. Staff is mostly indifferent - the starter was nowhere to be found and I almost teed off on the wrong nine because he was not available at my tee time.
I booked directly through the club around 10-14 days prior, I was informed when first booking, twice with follow-up phone calls, again by the valet/club handler, and lastly in the pro shop when paying for my round. Scott I think there might be a problem with booking indirectly, sorry to hear it.
Your issue might be with the way you booked. I played the same rounds you did today, but I did book direct via phone two weeks ago. Upon scheduling, I was informed of the maintenance. I was called 2x the next week to inform me of the same. I was informed by the valet guy who took my cart, and I was even reminded by the guys who took my money. Single Creek was overly informative on this issue from what I experienced but maybe they liked me who knows.
