I dove in the waters surrounding the 17th green. Gordon Davis, who's been the diver there for 20 years, was my guide. No gators, just golf balls. A lot of golf balls. Photo submitted by MattGinellaGA on 05/02/2014

Amazing experience!!!
Wow is the best word to describe my experience at TPC Sawgrass! My husband and I went to play a round of golf in December for the first time and have been back multiple times since. When we drove up it was absolutely gorgeous, I had heard they did construction so I am not too sure what it looked like before. One thing they offer that I found exceptional was valet service! The parking lot is a bit of a walk and I think it really makes TPC stand apart from other golf courses we have played! Valet guy was so nice and gave us a lot of information since it was our first time there. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! The course is definitely difficult, but so worth it. We will be back.
Looking Forward to My Return
The course is amazing, well-kept like the Stadium Course. It doesn't look like one you should walk given the long distances between greens and tees, but overall a must play. Looking forward to a return trip in late-February.
TPC Dye's Valley Christmas Day Review
The course was a excellent condition especially the greens were rolling smooth and true. The pace of play was outstanding as our twosome played in 3:15.
Bucket List Course that Lives up to the Hype
Perfect day at TPC Sawgrass. The course was immaculate. Having played it 100+ times on video games it was even better in person. The new renovations are fantastic. #12 is now a great hole. Almost every hole is memorable. I couldn't imagine a better golf experience. I obviously had my playing partner record my tee shot on 17. Haven't felt more pressure over a shot in my life. The course is much more than just the island green, but that was still a uniquely special hole. I can't recommend this course enough. My playing partner said it is on the same level as Pebble Beach. Go here!
Excellent greens
Course condition was excellent. Caddie was good. Staff is friendly and helpful.
The rough is too penal. Not a fan of trees in the fairway or right in front of the tee. Seems to be a Pete Dye thing. The 16th & 17th holes are back to back par fives which is OK, but the holes are too similar to each other. Too much water for my taste.
Fun day
Great course in outstanding shape, friendly, helpful staff. Really couldn't ask for more. The rough was troublesome as in tough. Wouldn't hurt to cut it down.
Only have a chipping and putting practice area as the driving range is being upgraded.
Fun and memorable
Having watched this tournament for many years, and actually attended, I was extremely excited to get a chance to actually play it the course. We stayed on the property and the staff at both the hotel and course make it extremely easy and fun to get around, enjoy the property and ensure you get where you need to get too. Very reassuring.
The only disappointing element was only getting a small bag of balls to warm-up with on the range. I was hoping for unlimited, but I got over it quick. We rode in carts, but had the mandatory fore-caddie, who was great and and nice to have.
As far as the course itself, it was memorable. Seeing each hole in person, as I have for many years on TV was awesome. Some of the tee shots were more intimidating in person than on TV, such as the two par 5's on the front nine, 2 & 9. The conditions were great, and each hole had a different element that really distinguished each from one another.
16, 17 & 18 were definitely the highlights however. The tee-shot on 16 is critical, 17 is a simple wedge or 9-iron, but still intimidating. The green is huge, it's just very helpful to be on the proper level. 18's tee shot is great. The clubhouse in the background, lake to the left and trouble right. A really cool experience.
The property itself is massive, as is the clubhouse. It was a great experience that I can't wait to do again. I played terrible, so I'm excited to get back again, but spending the weekend with my Dad in one of golf's most recognizable spots was pretty cool.
Everything I expected
It is a "must play again" course. Excellent shape, lots of hills. Yes, it's Florida and I said that.
Very nice course
This course is absolutely beautiful.
Great afternoon of golf
Played June 21st at 3:35 PM for $90. Played in <3 hrs with son as twosome with new Taylor Made M2 rentals. Driving range was closed but it's more important to practice putting and chipping. I'm 54 with an 8 handicap and not a long hitter. Played the mixed tees.
What followed was a thoroughly enjoyable and challenging round of golf. Par 4s and 5s challenging and par 3s playable. Greens still had some sand from aeration 3 weeks ago but rolled well. Very firm and had a few good shots roll off the back until I got used to them. Fairways in great shape. Water on so many holes wears you down by the time you're midway through back 9. Must be accurate off the tee. Shot 39-43 and very happy.
Staff was great. I would definitely play again.
This course could be so much more!
The tees boxes need to be marked with the yardage. The card has them marked, in very tiny print, by the way, but when you walk up to the tees, there are no yardage markers, so you have to guess exactly how long the hole is, which is lame.
What an experience!
I have nothing less than superlatives for our round on Dye's Valley Course. The course is in excellent shape. The staff was helpful, considerate and cordial.
There was nothing less than excellent and that made for a great day.
Thanks to the staff and management.
June 2016
TPC Valley Course was in good shape. Fairways were still a bit sandy after having been aerated just over a week ago, but the greens were in excellent condition. We played in the morning and enjoyed the round so much, we played again in the afternoon. The staff could not have been friendlier and was very accommodating. I can't wait to see how the Stadium Course greens and course changes come in this November.
Top notch experience
While I was disappointed that the Stadium course was closed until November 2016, the Dye Valley course was truely a challenging and beautiful course. The staff and amenities were top notch. You've got to experience this one!
The Valley Course returns
Things were bad for a while but with they have worked hard to improve conditions here. The greens are finally growing. They have patched the problems pretty seamlessly. They look healthy. The rest of the course is very good. The fairways are perfect. We played in 4:10
I really enjoyed it. This is a real Dye gem. no walk in the park. Play the white tees. They'll give you plenty of interest.
Stadium Course closed until November 2016
The Stadium course is getting new greens, Practice Area, Parking Lot, new Main Drive up to the Clubhouse and some other changes.
It sure will be a diferent look.
A Disgrace
The pace of play is ridiculous. They had a 24 man beer fueled bachelor party on the course this morning plus a bunch of other dimwits who had no respect for anyone else on the course. Grated the rangers finally got the mess cleared up after 10 holes but there is no excuse for this. And then there is the condition of the greens. They got some ugly looking fungus growing , bald patches, shoddy replacement patches. The place was closed for 6 months last year to improve them. It's a mess. The "members" are getting a very poor deal here and the resort folks are surprised at the poor conditions.
Great Course!
We happened to catch the Stadium Course on an extremely windy afternoon. So needless to say it was really tough sledding out there.
This course is not a wide open bombers course. It's a strategic and accuracy driven course. Even from the blue tees, it's not scary long...but you have to hit the fairways! Fairways is the key to playing well here. You can attack greens with short irons if you hit the fairways. If you don't hit fairways...you're hitting out of pine straw, sand, out from under trees, or a thick rough...or maybe even dropping cause you hit the water.
But the experience is great. Great staff up front, AWESOME practice facilities (make sure to hit a few shots out of the sand bunker onto the range...you'll need a few of those shots for your round), and just an overall beautiful property.
I'd recommend getting there 2 or 3 hours early, eating lunch on the patio, browse the clubhouse/locker room, putt and chip, then hit a bucket...and get after it.
We walked and our caddies were okay. They were both young, and took pride in their job...it was just a tough day on everyone with the windy conditions.
This is not a course that will wow you with views like a Pebble or Whistling Straits, so don't expect that. That would be my only complaint...is that they charge the same rate as those places, but the course doesn't have a huge wow factor. It's just a really skinny, challenging course. 16, 17, and 18 are 3 of the coolest holes you can play in the US...so really soak those in. Enjoy!
Perfect fairways
The course was in pretty good shape, the fairways were the best fairways I have every played, but the greens had a lot of rough spots, but rolled pretty good. The staff is very friendly. The course has a lot of water and had very tight fairways with big greens. I think it is a little bit over priced because of the greens.
Decidedly average. ..
Nothing special greens were beat up and course layout didn't excite me
The Stadium Course is the host of the PLAYERS, yes .
Dumb question maybe but this course is different from the players championship? Like there is the stadium course and the dyes course?
I am looking to play the stadium course the course with the island green...
