Very challenging course
Choose the correct tee box to play this course or you will be sure to get in trouble. Don’t let your ego push you to the longer tees.
Bay Point -Nicklaus
Used a hot deal for a single. As a single, I started with a group of three others. After a couple holes, they let me take off by myself. Great day, tough course. Fairways were cut tight. Greens rolled fast and true. Rough was tough as the ball disappeared down in 2 to 3” soft grass. Really hard to advance more than just hacking it out.
My only real complaints though were that several of the tee areas were chewed up and needed to be moved and then having a couple tee shots in the fairway only to find the ball on a hill above or below my feet. Frustrating because I over thought it.
Overall though great day and great golf.
This course is terrible!!
I place about 75 rounds of golf in Florida every year. THIS IS THE WORST COURSE I HAVE PLAYED IN FLORIDA. And it cost $130!!
!!
BayPoint Nicklaus course
Everything is perfect except the pace. A bit slow.
Greens were unbelievably slow. All other course conditions were fine
I hope they are recovering from hurricane ida
Bay Point has a great reputation earned many years ago. I did not realize that The Meadows course is out of action and has been since Ida in 2019. The Nicklaus course that we played is a very nice layout. The fairways are in pretty good condition. The greens were long, shaggy, and just not up to par. The greens fees are high also. Give them a chance to get their greens back up to speed. There sure aren’t many options in this area.
Not sure why all the bad reviews.
First of all I believe half of these people reviewing the course have no idea what they are talking about. The course is in great shape. There is not one temporary green to be found. And there hasn’t been one for a long while. From tee to green the course is in great shape. Really enjoy the layout.
Huge disappointment. I hope they can recover from Hurricane Michael someday
Really nice layout. Really nice people.
Really high greens fees. Really SLOW greens. The Meadows course is just a meadow now. Not in play from damage three years ago from Hurricane Michael. The Nicklaus course is open, but not in very good shape. The greens were thick and long. The fairways were also thick and slow, but that isn’t as serious. Perhaps they are still recovering from the hurricane. I would like to play it when it is in better shape, butI don’t know when or if that will be.
Great course.
This is an excellent course and top notch staff. My wife and I play here once a year when we are on vacation and absolutely love this place.
Temporary greens
Clubhouse never mentioned temporary greens being used for the week. Would have been important to know when booking. Also, range was closed. Man at counter said the reason was because it had rained that night. Course didn’t seem wet and range was open to instructors giving lessons. Not a pleasant outing. Ask questions before paying.
