DON'T MISS THIS UNIQUE, GEM OF A COURSE!
We have been playing this course when visiting SW FL from Scotland for about 30 years. Played lots of FL courses and there is nothing like it. Pretty short, but a great test as every shot requires precision to score well as there is so much water. Superb setting and very interesting layout. Still has a a few very small areas recovering from hurricane damage but this does not detract from the experience. Staff have always been great too. Lovely experience if you have a partner as a ridealong that doesn't play. Its a one-off golf experience you'll never forget.....don't miss it. PS bring a few extra balls just in case. :)
Lovely place to play on Sanibel
Course, people, and location made this special.
I have returned a couple times since my initial experience there.
good test
I enjoyed this course. The layout is challenging .The course was not crowded. Staff was friendly and helpful. A little on the expensive side but worth the money. Definitely will be back.
Enjoyable golf course
Very friendly welcome — checked in — we were a 2 ball but had been paired up —- so as the course wasn’t particularly busy asked if we could go as a 2 a little early
Agreed but we were warned you will catch up some of the members
That was the case & it became painfully slow
Anyway nice course to play — a lot of work going on on the back 9 around the greens
Would come back but at a different time of the day
Many thanks
MC
Great course with green and repair issues
The course layout is challenging. The wind on Sanibel is always challenging. Repair around almost all the greens is disappointed. 18th green was setup as a temporary green. Overall a great time
Very impressed.
First time playing this course and it was absolutely beautiful. Greens are still being worked on due to the multiple hurricanes but they are doing their best. Fairways were immaculate. I played at 9:30am Tuesday morning and there was nobody behind me pushing me or in front of me holding me up. Keep your driver in your bag on most holes. Accuracy is the key to this course. I’ll be back for sure.
Terrible greens
I would be embarrassed to charge someone $150 to play on absolutely terrible greens. Green 18 had been moved to the fairway because it was so bad. Do not play this course unless you know the greens have been repaired.
Wait till next year
They are charging premium prices for a course with only the back 9 open. And… it’s in bad shape. #18 is even on a temporary green. All greens have sanded bad places. Fairways have bad spots. Sand traps are full of shells and rocks. The rough is a weed patch. This course needs a lot of work and is still trying to recover from Hurricane Ian. We paid $6 toll to get to the course for our tee time, only to be told because they only have 1 side open, there were too many people on it and we had to wait another 45 minutes for some of the players to clear out.
Be sure to call the Pro Shop before booking here and find out if all the holes are open and what shape they’re in.
Terrible greens
Very disappointing for $150. The water hazards are very nice but the greens are terrible. Hole 18 green was moved to the fairway.
Enjoyed tremendously
The staff was incredibly friendly. My father rented clubs and the cost was extremely high, we played another course with 1/4 of the cost for rentals. The course is challenging but fair. Very scenic
