Wrapping up a great day. Photo submitted by Scott4497478 on 11/06/2012
Great Course
Very friendly and helpful staff. Well worth the trip to play. Layout is great and challenging. There was routine course work that had recently occurred but course was still great to play. Highly recommended
Stay Away. For now
Conditions are deplorable for the cost. Stay away until it heals. Not nearly worth the price at this time. Staff could not have been more accommodating.
Great layout..would have liked notice about punched greens
The lay out of the course was great. Just didn’t like that there was no notice about the greens being punched. Other then that this courses lay out is a lot of fun.
Bunkers and Bunker Sand was horrible. Way way to firm.
Fantastic day!
This course is about what you would expect out of the Ritz-Carlton. Lush conditions, incredible service, excellent practice facilities (range, bunker and chipping and putting green). The greens has been punched and it was still playable. Definitely have to play this course if you have the opportunity!!!
Very good resort course
This is a well maintained resort course. Tee shots are to very generous fairways. Approaches are more challenging. Green speed was smooth and very quick. Course was not over seeded but in excellent condition. Staff was superb. I used the caddie option and loved the experience.
The best
Conditions were amazing. Staff was incredible. I think the back 9 is the most entertaining 9 I’ve ever played.
Thanks again and see you next year!!
Golfer Delight
Wonderful day on the course on golf buddies trip. Course experience turned out as advertised: great condition including fast well conditioned greens, wonderful layout, friendly staff, good pace, nice well stocked pro shop including some great deals. The bag tag provided looks very classy as well. I highly recommend this one.
Ritz Carlton lives up to it’s reputation
Had a 9:40am time booked, over slept. Staff was great changed it to 10:40, no problem.
Great layout
I liked the layout a lot. The condition was very good. Pace of play was excellent.
A beautiful day.
We had a very nice day, playing well. Very well received. The way I know The Ritz.
What I liked was that what we bought in the course, we didn't had to give tip. It was already included!!
The girl said 30, and she didn't accept tip, because it already was included. I would love when this was the rule in the whole country.
Pristine Golf Course
I played this course a couple of years back around Thanksgiving, DAYS before the PGA father and sons Challenge tournament. This is the best golf course that I have ever played with the best conditions, besides Pebble Beach in Monterey California. The practice area was excellent, the course layout was great, the greens were fast and Truth. What a great experience
Over hyped, boring and in OK shape
Bad layout/design. Boring and straightforward.
Played with a friend who was blown away by Orange County National/Grand Cypress/Southern Dunes/Reunion.
He didn't think much of here. Neither did I.
I have no problem shelling out well over $100 for a tee time, if its worth it. What is wrong with this course?:
- Such a boring, sedentry design. Really bad
- Conditions were the worst of the 4 courses we played that week. Range, though, was the best maintained.
- Its over priced and over hyped
The bad on the day:
- idiots hitting balls into you, claiming they didnt know you were there. Doing it on multiple holes, and when confronted act dumb.
- Pro shop not telling you some of the greens were punched.
The good on the day:
- Burger in the clubhouse is excellent (imo)
To those looking for alternatives at this price point:
- Waldorf astoria is better in every way. Still not a huge fan of it - but it is better than this place.
- Shingle Creek - its everything this place is (flat resort course with frequent views of the hotel) but in better shape, slightly cheaper, better design.
- Bay Hill, because at least it will sound good in conversations.
Or just go to OCN/Grand Cypress/Southern Dunes/etc for an upgrade in every possible way and save money
Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes GC
Great course. The staff is always super friendly and the you are treated wonderfully. The course was in fantastic shape as has been the case each time I've played there and it is never overcrowded. I find the course to be a players course where you can really go for the pin instead of the layout being too tight. Beautiful scenery and a feeling of being miles away from anywhere it's a relaxing and enjoyable day at the course. Well worth the money.
