Not worth the price charged

Greens were okay - no real complaints. Fairways were criss-crossed with large and small patches of bare ground and pebbles which result in unplayable lies. I am not a fan of courses that penalize you for a great tee shot. Also too many par 4s with sharp dog legs less than 220 yards away from tee box...thus you can't hit driver.

Course not well maintained - not worth $85

Front 9 Great, Back 9 Needs Work

Front 9 of this course was pretty good. Greens were in good shape and tee boxes weren’t totally chewed up. Fairways were pristine. Front 9 was more technical. Back 9 left much to be desired. Course was very dry, tee boxes were dry dirt on many holes, and several greens were burned without grass. It looked like they are fixing the greens on Stonemont course, so maybe this will be next.

Course has gone downhill

I used to play here all the time, it was a great value for money before Covid. Since Covid it has gone downhill, the greens fees have doubled and the course conditions has significantly deteriorated. Fairways are full of brown areas with no grass, most greens have no grass and are wet patches of mud mixed with some rolled weeds. Speed is inconsistent and they are in terrible condition. I would not play here again unless conditions are dramatically improved.

Terrible conditions

Course is in awful shape. Abandoned tee boxes, weeds everywhere and greens are terrible. For the price you can play 10 times better courses anywhere in Atlanta.

Great views and technical layout

The greens and course were in rough shape for the amount of rain we have had this year. Seems they are not investing in their greenskeepers or general groundskeepers. The fairways and greens all had different diseases and grasses.

Started off slow and kept slowing down because some people just do not understand pace of play. Less a course problem more a people problem. I complained bc we waited every single tee shot for 5-10 minutes and eventually had 2 groups waiting on us to even hit our shots. Really not fun.

For $100, I could recommend 100 other courses to play. They should be criminally reprimanded for charging $100 here. Fairways and greens were awful. Friendly staff though.

RTG is turning in his grave

Course design is a unique Robert Trent Jones except they have let it fall into the worst condition possible. Dead patches in fairways, greens that have whole halves that need to get replaced, rocky patches spread through the holes. For $90, I cannot recommend this course, my local muni in NC is $45 and considerably better than this. RTG’s courses are usually at premier destinations, really a shame to see the course look this awful.

Better Places to play for the money

Let me say this. The layout of the course is great. The fairways, greens and tee boxes were terrible on most holes . Paying $70 to play a course in that condition leaves a lot to be desired. Also paying $20 to “park” wasn’t cool either . The cart guy was cool though.

Stonemont Course

Love the course, very challenging. Weather was extremely hot typical Georgia summer weather. Could use more water on the course.

Very Disappointed

The course is very scenic; however, the course conditions were terrible. All greens were rolling extremely slow and several greens had bear spots and ruts filled with sand. The conditions of the course does not support the charged green fee. At the very least the staff should warn guess to the course.

Don’t waste your money

June 2025. Don’t waste your money. For $125 you’d expect the course to be in great shape. We played the Lake course. Greens were horrible. Some hadn’t been mowed in several days. Some mowed that day. Some partially mowed. Some with large areas that were dead. No sand in the sand bottles. Had to walk out to the range to find an empty basket. Poor mgmt. Won’t return.

Don’t Play here

Although I did love the layout of the course and the nice trees this course was not worth the $100 tee time that is instilled. Most of the tee boxes were pretty much sand and almost half of the greens looked like the asphalt parking lot. There was no marshall to keep up with the pace of play so our round was almost 6 hours. The golf carts were extremely slow and could sometimes barely make it up the steep slopes on the course. This course needs to be $40 MAXIMUM. The range was a joke, $8 for a small bucket which included about 15 balls or a large which was $17. Would not recommend 2/5

Beautiful location. Lakemont back nine awful

Played the lakemont course and while the front nine was absolutely amazing the back 9 was a completely different experience. The front nine has amazing views of Stone Mountain across the lake and course conditions were outstanding. As I drove the half mile or so to get to the back nine it was no where near the same. #10 looked like I was playing in a field almost not even worth hitting. The back nine of lakemont felt like I was playing a $20 course. Considering I paid $100 to play and $20 to get in the park this was not worth it. I would love to go back and see the stonemont course set up but as of now I wouldn’t want to take a friend simply for my experience on the lakemont back nine. Quite disappointing to be completely honest and felt like a waste of money by the end of my round.
