Beautiful Mountain Scenery
NYC golfers thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful mountain scenery on the golf course at the Brasstown Resort and Spa.
Great shape
Played Brasstown a year ago for the first time. Great shape then even better now. Played today fairways are perfect, traps well maintained, greens are terrific for bent this time of year. Well worth the money and drive.
Mountain Golf
Had a great time on Brasstown Valley's golf course. The condition is well above average with true greens and tight fairways. If you are a higher handicap take some extra balls as most of the woods and anything off the fairway is very thick and you are not supposed to enter. Very friendly staff and the lodge is an added bonus.
Pretty area and fun course
This was my first time playing the course. I had a great time. The course layout was awesome with lots of vert pretty golf holes. Lots of water and lots of weeded, natural areas that make the course very pretty but a guaranteed lost ball if you hit into the weeds.
I would definitely recommend this course. The course was in awesome condition and lots of wildlife to be seen.
Great course-Great condition
Very playable with lots of tee options. Enjoyable and very scenic with mountain views. Friendly staff.
dont play for several weeks
we have played this course many times over the past few years, and it is one of my favorite layouts. HOWEVER, today we had a 2:30 tee time and it was very disappointing. I had called ahead of time to find out the course conditions. this is very important to me because we live 2 hours away. I was told by the pro shop that the greens had been punched march 20 &21st, but that they had recovered nicely and were rolling great. that is not the case at all all 18 and practice greens are a long ways away from rolling great. our group of 4 never had a putt that didn't bounce multiple times because of the punched greens, very frustrating. it also made the speed slow and all aproach would send up a poof of sand. I also specifically asked ahead of time if the tall grass/ waste areas/environmental areas had grown up from the winter- again I was told yes that course had grown in nicely and was in great shape. HOWEVER, that also is not true. all waste areas/tall grass areas/environmental areas were cut down. in fact many of them looked like they had purposefully been burned. this is sad because they are all a huge part of the course, and make it very cool. it is a great layout but I would not recommend playing there for several weeks if not more because of the greens and course conditions. if we had been givien an accurate report I would have waited to play and not drove 2 hours . on top of it all they had a wedding party on the 16th green /17 tee box taking pictures. super loud and very distracting to play right next to 20 people in a photo shoot.
very disappointing day. stay away for a while until the greens actually putt smooth
Excellent
Excellent overall great staff wonderful views and wildlife
Mountain Gem
Brasstown Valley is one of my favorite courses and I try to play there anytime I'm in the mountains. It plays and looks like a links style course with rolling fairways and many bunkers. The mountain views are unparalleled - you need to see it to appreciate it. Catch a nice day between late fall and early spring and you will have the whole course to yourself. Greens are usually great and overall course condition is generally very good. If you are nearby, its a must play - if not, I would consider making the trip anyway.
Good course in NE Georgia Mountains
We were greeted in parking lot by friendly staff. Starter was able to accommodate our request to play a bit earlier than our original tee time. Greens were in great shape. I would highly recommend playing this golf course if you are in the NE Georgia mountains area.
One of the best courses I've ever played
This by far is one of the best courses I've ever played. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the course itself was very well taken care of!!!
Great place
Course was in excellent condition, greens were smooth. Fairways were extra cushy, might be a good place to play when everyone has dormant fairways. Seems like the ball will sit up nicely in the winter while everyone else has matted down fairways. We will definitely play again.
Disappointed
The staff was eager to greet me and help with the bags etc. in as effort for a tip. However the clubhouse staff was disorganized and never paired me with my golf now group. No marshal was present and several singles went off. I finally joined another single. The driving range was included but we hit off mats.
We played through a group of six and several players behind us quit the round. The half way house was closed. The course does not turn at the clubhouse, but it does not allow outside beverages. I have never played there when the stand was open on number 10 .
The fairways are great, but the rough cuts in at some unusual spots leaving good shots with a difficult lie. The greens had some bad areas and were covered with fertilizer. Some traps had good sand and others were filled with a heavy beach style sand. That make it hard to adjust from trap to trap.
The weather was great and the views outstanding.
Needless to say at the end of the round ample staff was there to get another tip to unload our carts. This course has dropped from a must play to average.
Disappointed
Several members of the staff were eager to greet me and get my clubs etc. I am sure that effort was for a tip. The clubhouse was disorganized and said they had lost the pinsheet?
The driving range had us hitting off mats.
There was no marshal and several singles went off. I was never paired with my golf now group and finally joined another single. We played through a group of six and several behind us just quit the round.
The fairways were in great shape, but the rough is cut in ways that does not reward good shots. It centers the fairways in places that are unexpected. The greens were covered in some type of fertilizer making putting difficult. They also had some bad spots.
The views are always great and the weather made it a good day. However , I would say this course has dropped from a must play to average.
Fantastic course!
It was my first time at Brasstown Valley, and it was a great day! From the time I pulled in and was greeted at my car to when I left and was dropped off at my car, the staff was courteous, friendly and engaging. They really go out of their way to make you feel at home and welcome. I grabbed a turkey BLT wrap to go from Brassie's restaurant, and it was amazing!
As for the course, there are 5 sets of tees, and while not overly long, the whites were the right choice for me that day, when the weather was a light mist for most of the round. However, the course was in magnificent condition. The fairways were lush and very well maintained, with Bermuda throughout. The greens had been lightly top-dressed in the past few days, but they were true and rolled very well. The greens are large and undulating, but a very fair test in my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed my round, and would highly recommend Brasstown Valley!
A fine course.
Very scenic course. Beautiful views on every hole. The course was in great condition. Would like to have GPS on the cart--but they wanted you to download their app for that. Distances can be very deceiving on this course. It was every bit as nice if not nicer than the top tier courses in Myrtle Beach, SC. Would definitely play there again.
Another great weekend at Brasstown
Enjoyed another great weekend at Brasstown. Course is in excellent shape, save a few brownout spots on the greens from lazy golfers failing to fix their ball marks. Tee boxes are cut a bit long, and there's plenty of sand and water to keep you honest. Staff is helpful and friendly, and their clubhouse has a nice pub for after round drinks. Great place for a golf weekend getaway.
Great course...well-maintained
The golf course is attached to a country club, beautiful, and is well-maintained. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Great place to golf by yourself or with a foursome.
Wonderful experience
Brasstown Valley is resort golf at its finest. The staff is accommodating, the food is great, the course is first rate, the views are spectacular and change with every hole. The fairways are especially well maintained and the greens would be exceptional if the clientele would repair their pitch marks. This is a golfing experience to be savored.
Fantastic shape
Played the course on Saturday. Ran into one slower group on the back side, but not too bad pace of play, The course is in excellent condition but greens were a little slower than I like. Bring your sand game, or stay out of them all together!
If you want the resort experience go and play BrassTown Valley.
The staff is helpful. The tees, fairways, greens and layout are great. Views while playing are stunning.
Did not eat, but course service of drinks was available and helpful.
