Chateau Elan Winery & Resort

Woodlands is the less picturesque 18 at Chateau Elan & generally gets less play. It’s a tight layout with some blind tee shots & tight landing areas. On this day, the greens were really slow as they have been watering a ton to keep them in good shape. There are lots of fade tee shots around this course, so hope that is in your bag. Pace of play can be slow due to lots of ball searching & you are unlikely to see a Marshall. Number 9 does NOT come back to the clubhouse, so have food with you. I have never seen the mid point grill open.

One annoyance….many of the tee boxes were not built to point at the center of the fairway. Most often they point at the right rough. I really hate this being overly visual in my swing shape.

It’s a nice course & even better if you have a coupon. Can be really pricey on the weekend.

Bring your gap wedge and putter. Most shots less than 90yrds #1 45. No. 9 165 over water

This course is in great condition with the recent heat wave hitting the area. Course is challenging from the tee shot selection and you can just pull out your driver all day long. They did have the drink cart and that was wonderful. They also had water coolers which is a great addition!

The only problem was we had a group of 5 playing together in front of us and they never let the two of. Is pass. I think they may have been member but letting 5 off the start for a morning tee time is crazy. No Marshall ever came to the course and we waited on every hole.

Great price for this great and challenging track. Rained heavily thru the night so the greens got hotter as the round continued. Def will be back. Was a joy to play

Greens are currently aerated, but otherwise course is in good condition.

Course was in really good shape. Teed off at 1:30 p.m. on a Sunday and never saw another group on the course. Was able to play in right around 3 hours. With the shape the course is in and the brisk pace of play it made for a very nice time.

I played the course on June 4 and everything was great. I come back on June 10 with 3 guests and the greens were punched. We should have been informed of this as the greens were unplayable.

U colud 4-5 balls every time because there are no marsal

Played on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and had a great experience. A little pricey but it was a morning round on a holiday weekend, so not unexpected. Course was in solid shape, greens rolled very true. Pace of play was good & the beverage cart came around probably 5 times during our round.
