Chateau Elan Golf Club - Chateau Course
About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

Golfer Reviews
TeeTom
Play with three really nice people. Course was in great condition, pace of play was good, great afternoon of golf. Would highly recommend to friends.
Highly Recommend
The course was in great shape, the staff was friendly, and everything was well run.
What really stood out was the customer service after my round. I accidentally left a wedge behind, and another golfer was kind enough to turn it in. Someone from the pro shop took the time to call and text me to let me know they had it. That kind of honesty and service is definitely appreciated and says a lot about both the people who play here and the staff.
Great course and even better people.
5 hours and 20 minutes to play
For the amount of money we had to pay to play this course and have a 5-hour and 20 minute round because there's no rangers patrolling the pace of play on the course
Consistent Chateau
Chateau consistently delivers. The track is solid. Good mix of holes. I played early afternoon in 3 hours.
Great Course
Even though greens had recently been aerated, still played okay and rest of course was beautiful.
Pace was slowed due to foursome in front not letting our twosome play through but that is no fault of the course.
Chateau Course
Chateau Elan is always a great place to play golf. All 3 of the courses are very well maintained with interesting layouts. We had an 8:00 AM tee time on the Chateau course, pace of play was 4:12 for 18 on 8/8. Staff is always friendly and helpful.
Great layout, Good condition, Grainy greens
Can’t recommend the early in the week, late afternoon value for this course. Greens roll fine, sneaky fast, but not the best condition visually at this time. Little closely mown for summer temps it seems. Some sort of scalping. Always a fun round.
Chateau Course
Course conditions were good. Greens haven’t fully recovered from aeration early this summer, but were in good shape.
Not my favorite layout and the greens...well
The driving range was nice. People at the clubhouse seemed friendly and staff were helpful in getting us out on the course. The layout is not my favorite. Many places that you have to be aware of creeks or other things that affect either the t-ball or the second shot. Once you get to the greens they were in I will say less than desirable condition. Many brown areas, the cups look like they were cut by a two year old who didn't know how to cut cups, super saggy edges on nearly every hole, they had put a top coat of sand on and we had to wait while the maintenance people ran a cart over the top of the greens for six or seven holes straight..
All in all I have played many courses that were better than this and probably won't play it again.
