Losing place on the greens I have never seen it this bad
Course very wet due to a lot of rain. Nice layout. Good price. Great staff. Doing a lot of improvements . Tree removal. A couple of greens need work.
Pretty Alright
The course itself is nice. Our only gripe was paying $50 then seeing the condition of their greens. The greens had crab grass in them and sand all over them from catching some sort of disease. Other than that, the course was not crowded and the rest of the course was well maintained.
Too many digits!
I think the course staff must emphasize repairing divots
to everyone who comes to play here.
Pace of play
Groups of 4 would not let single or doubles play through
Great Day in February
Great Day and weather brought out a crowd which slowed down play but the course is looking great and the staff is working on getting it back in shape from the winter storms we just had.
Fastest greens in the area
Conditions will improve dramatically in several weeks, but right now tees need grass growth but fairways are OK. Greens were so fast that downhill putts would not stop near the hole. Long downhill putts were lucky to stay on the green. Expect to have multiple 3-putts on these greens now, but the greens should be back to normal as soon as the grass grows. The course will be worth 4-5 stars then.
Always great
You’re in nature. No cars, houses, or noise. Just you and golf and a challenging course.
Great State Park Course
Really enjoy the layout and diversity of this course. Good conditions for this time of year. Great value for the price will continue to play here.
The Creek
Course was really wet , cart paths only ,, but will definitely go back again.
Pace of play
A foursome held up the course from hole #3 to hole #18 and wouldn't let fast groups play through. It made for a 3 hours round turn into a 4 hours round.
Marshall needed
We arrived 30 minutes early than our tee time so we could have some warm up time, but the pro told us they were backed up and we could tee off when the tee box was empty. There were 10 other players in line. So we did not get to warm up and we had to play behind a 5 player team, witch was very slow. Course was backed up all day without a starter or a Marshall to keep play at a decent pace.
