Been a long time, but worth the wait
Moved from the area due to work requirements, but got the chance to visit every once in awhile now with retirement. First time playing there in over 25 years and glad I got the chance to play it again. Course still in perfect condition with beautiful natural forest layout. I think all ages and sexes would have a great time enjoy playing here and relaxing while viewing the sceniering on and off the course. I use to say the deer were safe on the fairway because I would always miss them. If you are in the area and play golf or not, you need to make a stop at Hard Labor Creek State Park. Don't let the name scare you if you do play golf.
Pretty Golf Holes, Fun Layout but very poor Course Maintaince
This was my first time playing The Creek at Hard Labor course. I have played several other GA state park golf courses and I expected the course maintenance and conditions to be similarly excellent. Wrong.
The greens were terrible. There were tons of spots with bare dirt or sand on the greens. The greens had not been cut for a at least a couple days. There were earthworm dung mounds and bumps everywhere on the greens. The greens were some of the worst condiition I have played in quite some time, which is totally opposite of other GA state park courses I have played (Highlands Course at Lake arrowhead, Ocumulgee, Arrowhead Pointe, etc.).
The tee boxes were torn up with very little grass. However, the fairways and bumkers were in very good condition. I loved hitting from the fairways as they were lush with grass and very nice.
The best part about The Creek golf course is the beautiful setting and the beautiful scenery. The setting and scenery is fantastic! Creeks, waterfalls, water wheel, animals.... just an all around beautiful place. I hope as summer months continue the condition of the greens and tee boxes improves because the course has a great variety of golf holes and is a spectacular setting.
Hot Deal
I am by no means a golfer, but I enjoy the outdoors. Found this course on a hot deal and couldn't pass it up. The fairways were pretty hard so the ball carried well, not much forgiveness if you're prone to lifting divots. The tee boxes were normal for the price, a bit chewed up. The greens were, let's say, way under par. Sprigs of grass all over making the ball bounce with ever putt, and so much sand....... For the price though, I'd play it every day. The scenery was fantastic! Creeks, waterfalls, water wheel, animals.... just a beautiful place. I'm sure as the growing season goes on, the course will get better.
Round of 89
Great Day for Golf.
Great shape
Course is in terrific shape for the season, would recommend to anyone
Best kept secret
Best kept secret east of Atlanta! Great layout. Perfect golf challenge. Beautiful land!
The Creek at Hard Labor
I like playing this course. Has some nice challenges and character. They have addressed the bunkers and now they play great, that is if you like playing out of bunkers!! Soft fluffy sand if you have the misfortune to land it in there.
Near Perfect
Each hole was different. You really have to think about each shot. You end up using almost every club in your arsenal. I cannot wait to play there again.
Course was wet from day before rain & was Cary path only. Still, the course played well. Best course for the money that I’ve played.
Good course
In general, it’s a good course with challenging layout. Some tee boxes need to be repaired.
Great course for the money
Great course, well maintained. open layout that helps you avoid losing a lot of golf balls. Fun course, would recommend.
Excellent conditions great value well worth it!
Hard Labor has been improved greatly over the last couple of years. Great course in very good condition. Yes still needs small improvements, but’s is a diamond that is it final stag of polishing.
Great course for the money
We played after a big rain and it was WET soaked but thats golf. Tee boxes are good, greens are fast keep the ball below the hole. Yardage is off.
Great Shape
Been a few years since I played the Creek at Hard labor. The first hole is not the hardest in the state as they reversed the nines again. The course is in GREAT shape and all the staff I saw were very friendly. The rough is tough and the greens putting fast and very true! I won't wait as long to go back.
