Lot of character
This course is beautiful and challenging. Very hilly, lots of hazards with some makeable par holes. The greens were a little faster than we were used to and you couldn’t compress the ball on your fairway shots so my score was higher than usual. But we’re on vacation and got lunch at the turn and really enjoyed the day!
Not Worth $53 this time of year
Have played this course many times. Wait until at least May to play this course. $53 is not worth the condition it’s in. Tee boxes are just okay, greens are in good shape and fairways are largely miserable. I know it’s March, but I’ve paid less than $53 in prime season so paying near full price for the lack of quality is frustrating. Also, I had to skip 16, 17, & 18. Booked plenty of time to play a round but we’d been out there nearly 5 hours and still had 3 holes to play. I truly do not understand how people play so stupid slow and this course does nothing to police it.
Pace of Play
18 holes took 5 hours and 30 minutes. With No Marshall enforcing pace of play, letting random groups tee off at will, and tee times too close together, avoid this place at all costs. Plenty of other places similarly priced that you can actually play at a decent pace
Good course in sloppy conditions
The greens were in excellent shape. Very fast downhill putts and slow uphill putts, which made it difficult to read the greens consistently. The rest of the course was suffering from too much rain, so except for the greens everything else was wet and sloppy. Best to wait for dry conditions to play again.
awesome spot
staff were great tee boxs were great the carts were super nice and greens well kept
Greens great, even in winter
City is not a long course but I find it challenging. There are a lot of hills, water hazards, rtght fairways, dog legs, on average 2-3 bunkers/hole, and a ton of trees! Despite winter, greens are in great shape. Be warned, the Bermuda grass is dormant so even fairways render super tight lies. I have played recently after a lot of rain and will chunk some chip shots due to mud and lack of grass. That said, by mid-March/April, it will be back to being a great public course!
