Arrogant Refund Policy
Played with my regular men's group for the first time at this course. We all agreed that it was pricy for the area and day of the week (a Tuesday). Course seemed to be in decent shape but due to an injury I was only able to complete 9 holes. When I went into the clubhouse for a nine-hole credit/rain check, my request was refused by a friendly staffer who told me that it was recent corporate policy to only give rain checks for legitimate weather-related reasons. Having never heard of a course not giving a rain check for medical (or actually, any) reason, I called back the next day to speak with the GM, who was unavailable. I spoke with Doug, who politely informed me that corporate (Reunion in FL) applied that policy to Kingwood in particular and not the courses in FL. Made me wonder if Kingwood was either being prepped for sale or for closure. In my 30+ years of golf, I've never encountered a more "go away" policy, so I'll do just that, at least until they get new owners.
Much better than before
We played first time few years ago and the club was not impressed overall.
However, we played last two days, and the course was much better especially with green.
great north georgia course
the course was great!! The greens were a little slow, The course was extremely well maintained
Vacation
Course was in good condition. Not very crowded. Had a day where we did have to wait on every shot for 13 holes. No Marshall or cart girl on course. They don’t allow anyone to tee off after 4;00.(even for 9 holes) Seems strange to me as it doesn’t get dark until 9:00. Overall had a great experience.
Not worth the green fee charged
Great layout for a 5554 yd golf course. I do not think this course is worth the green fee being charged. There were 4 tee boxes that were dirt and 1 fairway was in poor shape. The staff was not the friendly. Hitting net was in tough shape with holes in the net. I would save your money!!!
Not worth the money!!
This coarse has a great layout. Not long at 5553 yes. from the back tees. This course is not worth what they are charging. Four tees boxes were dirt and one fairway was very bare. It was disappointing!!
It's good to be the King
I've played this course several times over the years when present at the second home in north GA. It's almost always in good to great shape, the staff, especially Mike, is very friendly and accommodating. What the house lacks in distance (5500 yds from the tips) it somewhat makes up for in elevation change and routing difficulty. It's a fun, challenging course with a few of the holes bordering on 'Goofy Golf' but fun all the same. I've played their sister courses (Reunion Resort) in Orlando, FL many, many times and of course there is no comparison but Kingwood is a little jewel in the mountains. I will say this though' they should come off their price a bit. I've played courses in Franklin, NC and Hayseville, NC (40 min away) that are half the price and just as good if not better than Kingwood.
Nice lay out
Played Kingwood for the first time Was impressed by the layout of the course and the condition was good for early Spring. Though a rather short course, the layout makes it a challenging round of golf. Would recommend playing
Beautiful course, beautiful staff!
Best November golf north of I-10! Beautiful rolling hills, elevation and scenic surroundings. The course is in beautiful shape save for a few greens fighting fungus or something
Overall an outstanding experience. Especially if a big fancy driving range is not that important to you. Would and will play again on my next visit from the really flat, sandy lies in the Sunshine State around the Tampa, Florida area.

Pro shop staff very friendly
Course is really nice and is in very good shape. We will go back. Going from 9 to 10 can be tricky but after first round there it would be fine. Got behind two groups that were playing terrible and looking for 3 balls out of 4 just about after every shot. Lucky that was just the last 4 or 5 holes. Looking forward to going back.
Nice golf course
Enjoyed playing this course. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great holes, great layout. Some greens had some weed issues.
Good Course - Challenging
Loved the course, the challenges and elevation changes experienced golfing in the mountains. Tee boxes and directions clearly marked on the course.
For a resort, and $85 I expected bag attendants to assist with golf bag loading, unloading, etc. as a Country Club member, that is a given. Having to do the heavy lifting put it on the level of a public golf course in service.
The pro shop staff was very nice when I checked in.
