Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club is located in Cordele, Georgia within the Georgia Veterans State Park. The hotel is located on Lake Blackshear, a several-thousand-acre lake with a full marina and boat and pontoon rentals. The Cypress Grill features lakefront and outdoor dining with live entertainment. Located onsite is the Veterans Memorial Golf Course ("Vet's Course") at Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club. The resort features a main lodge with 14 guest rooms, plus more spacious villa and multi-bedroom cabin accommodations. The 18-hole golf course winds around the lake and was designed by Denis Griffiths. Additional activities include a military museum and Sam Shortline Train. Lake Blackshear Resort and the Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park are located two hours from Atlanta by car and one hour from Macon.Facts

Good value & nice layout
Greens improving after aeration. Fairways a little shaggy
Nice value
The course was in very good shape and is returning to being one of the better courses in the area. The greens are the best they have been in a long time. You can see progress on the greens and should be really nice by late summer. Bunkers need a little work and I wish the course would update the carts with GPS layouts for a better experience for those who don’t know the course. Would recommend for anyone in the area.
Great for beginners and super friendly staff
The gentleman in the clubhouse was super friendly and helpful for it being our first time. It was fairly slow that day, which was great two ladies and it being our first time here. We will definitely be back again when we come visit the lake from Atlanta!
Greens are coming in nicely, would like to see them running a little faster. Bunkers need sand, and there’s 2 huge limbs overhanging the tee shot on 17 from the tips
Very Nice Course
I enjoyed the layout and condition of this course. It made for a good challenge, but not overwhelming, for this high handicap golfer. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. I played this course during a road trip to Georgia for a family get-together. All you golfers who are veterans should put this course on your “To Do” list.
fun time
A great layout. Lake Blackshear will benefit from a couple more weeks of spring weather. The bunkers and a few greens need attention. It was a good day.
Terrible greens!!!
The course provides a good layout with challenge. The greens are currently in poor condition due to fungus. Some greens had chunks of sod spread out.
Good to see progress on course conditions. Hope you can keep it up and get the course in superb shape.
Surprising
The course is in very good shape. The greens for winter are good and the bunkers are in the process of being redone, but it didn't impact our play at all. I would totally play this course again.
Great value compared to what I normally pay in Atlanta.
Greens, fairways
Greens are in terrible shape. Haven’t ever experienced greens in this bad of a shape.
Fairways in areas have debris mainly leaves that have not been picked up. I lost a ball in the fairway because of so many leaves.
This course is way overpriced
It's unreal the price this course charges. With the proce they charge it should be in top shape but the greens have bad spots and the bunkers are garbage!
