Maintenance
When we played on Sunday, the tee boxes, fairways and fringes were in need of a good cutting, the greens were not in good condition. This course has such great potential if upkeep is maintained.
Great course design - in terrible shape currently
Before I say something about the current status of the course, let me say this. I love this course and love the design/layout. It’s a great place to play golf normally
However, the current status of the course is terrible. Half if not most of the greens are in TERRIBLE shape, the fairway grass is so thick, it’s a clubhead deep. We literally lost two balls in the fairway it was so thick. The rough is tough, but makes it fun. The tees need to be cut much lower, because the grass is so thick around the tees.
Overall a great course, it just needs a lot of work
Greens are BAD
Course was very wet, greens were very bad, had aeration holes,no sand and black algea.
Late Afternoon Round
As always, the course was in good condition and the price was good for a 2:40pm teetime. Played as a single and was able to get all 19s in. I will pay again.
Fairways greens and tee boxes are in great shape. Probably need to get a clean up crew and get all the pine cones and brush off the side of the fairways it’s a little bit too thick. Other than that was awesome
Great Golf Course!
Love playing there! Greens and fairways are always "green" and well kept! Beautiful, scenic looking fairways Roughs could use a little more upkeep, but we love the course! Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this course for all levels of golfers!
Disappointing
Played here several times in the past. It’s now in poor condition- weeds all over the fairways and greens in bad shape
Great golf
The course was very well laid out, loved the paved cartpath to get to each hole ( first time playing course).
Well maintained manicured course.
Return to old favorite
Return visit after not playing this course in more than a decade. Course was in excellent condition as it was the last time I played it.
Beautifully maintained like Augusta
Found the fairways and greens in amazing condition during dry season, with plenty of water on everything to keep them green! Don't forget the bug spray though this time of year. Price nudged up a bit, but still great deal for $45
Challenging but enjoyable.
Course was in great shape for early spring. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to camping here next year for a longer stay so I can play more golf here. The greens fee with a cart for senior is great!
Basic State Park Course
I have played three other Georgia State Park Courses, and even though this was touted as a "Resort" course, the facilities and course were basically the same as others in the park system, and in some cases, inferior. I arrived early for my tee time to get ready, and hits some balls on the range. I was told that they didn't have any range balls. I gathered up a few balls that were lying behind the cart path at the range just to warm up a bit. Joined up with a couple, who were very nice, but a bit slow. The course conditions were average, and greens were bumpy. It was a decent layout with some funky holes. Probably my least favorite of the four State Park Courses I have played so far. The other three are Arrowhead Pointe, Highland Walk, and Hard Labor Creek.
