Lake Richard B. Russell at Arrowhead Pointe State Park

Extremely nice layout on a peninsula jutting out on to lake. The greens had been invaded by a grass sprouts of an unknown kind to me. Consequently the ball would not roll true. Otherwise a great tract.

About 4 greens had poiana growing on them but for the most part the course was in great shape.

Very fun and challenging course. However the greens were in pitiful condition. Crab grass is covering 70% of the putting surface and is impossible to putt a true putt on. The course has beautiful surroundings so it’s sad to see the greens and tee boxes in such poor condition.

This is a beautiful course, I have played it in the past and it was an excellent experience. This time was completely different and almost impossible to play due to the infestation of crabgrass on the greens. They were completely eaten up with it. If you want to play for the views and layout go for it but dont waste your money playing here until they can get the greens fixed.

I play this course many times a year. Last spring you could tell something changed as the greens had many weeds growing. I think poanna. This year it it terrible. On hole 17 you can’t even putt it was so bad. Really sad as I usually say this is the best public course in Georgia. Someone needs to address these issues. I’ve been told by the staff that the warm weather will chock out the weeds but is that saying you shouldn’t play until then.

This is one awesome gettaway.. I'm always headed to Florida but from here on out I will be exploring my own state for these hidden gems . I would highly recommend this any day of the year. So rrefreshing!

This is a great golf course with great views and great layout, I hate to say the condition was the worst it has ever been. The greens have clumps of Poa so very hard to make putts and tee boxes have lost the grass to moss poa and weeds and very thin. The fairways have been overrun in poa but once we get to hot weather it will kills all of this out and the course will be back to normal. As always the greens are way to slow but they refuse to speed them up past 8 1/2 on the stimp,really is a great and fun course just a heads up that conditions are way below par with all the rain and needing heat to burn out the poa, Food is also no longer available until after 10.

I always love playing Arrowhead Pointe and Lake Richard B. Russell.

The only negative is that the course is located in such a remote location, but at the same time the remote location is also part of it’s beauty that makes it worth the ride to the middle of nowhere. Due to the remote location the course is not beat to death and over played. The course is ALWAYS in fantastic condition. Arrowhead Pointe is one of my favorite places to play and is ALWAYS a great value. If this course was located in Atlanta, the course would be $100 everyday.

The back nine has many of the holes along the shores of lake Richard B. Russell which adds to the beauty and challenge of the course.

If you get the chance, go play. You will never regret playing Arrowhead Pointe.

Was paired with two gentlemen from Canada. Staff was friendly and well organized. Pace of play was very good. Played in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Some of the greens have a lot of poa anna growing that need to be taken care of but would expect this will be taken care of soon as the greens start growing.

Challenging course; will definitely force you to use all the clubs in your bag. Beautiful scenery on Lake Russell... great course, I will be back!

The only negative about this course is it’s remote location. But that is also part of it’s beauty that makes it worth the ride to the middle of nowhere. The course is fantastic...one of my favorite places to play.

What a great course

Stunning place alongside the lake with several holes interacting with the water. Each hole very different and memorable.

Very friendly staff.

Only downside, some of the tee boxes needed a bit of TLC. But apart from that, this course is definitely worth the effort to find it and play.

I play this course 3 or 4 times a year and it is always very good. The golfnow rate of $13 was an added bonus. The course was in great condition although the greens had a lot of poa annua.

The course was in excellent condition, and the weather was perfect. This course is a hidden gem.

I only wish this course was closer to me. This is an absolutely beautiful course nestled in and around Lake Russell. Greens were a little slower than I'm used to but very consistent. This thing will be amazing when the fairways start greening up. Great Value even if I had paid twice or three times what I paid.
