Cart Path Only
While the course is in great shape, due to recent more than 48 hours prior, cart path restrictions were in place. This info should be made available via email in order to reschedule to more fully enjoy this beautiful course! Other wise a great experience and value for the $
Weather created mush
Great layout and scenic course. But because of rain there was no carts off path. Really slowed played today.
This is a fun course to play. There are some challenging holes and some great scenery around the lake.
Best golf pro
Golf pro at Arrowhead worked with me on tee time, directions, range balls, and tee suggestions. Without a doubt the best pro I have ever dealt with, great course too.
Nice track but a bit of a trek from the interstate
It's about 45 mins south of I-85 but being a bit remote usually means there's not a crowd. At least we got lucky during the holiday season. Trees may be an issue if you're not driving it straight but you often have a shot from the trees if you go that route. Fairways played well (for being dormant, lies not too tight). Greens were in great shape. Not the fastest but pretty true. Rough around the greens can be a challenge but still very workable. Read the grain on the greens, it matters if there's a slope. Very relaxing, well-kept course. Playing around the lake is beautiful. GPS led me down a gravel road that I wish I didn't take, but it dumped me right into the main street that leads to the course, so it worked out. If you know Highland Walk (another GA state course), Arrowhead Pointe is prettier and not as hard (less severe hills and greens). It was a good day of golf, wherever we were.
Arrowhead Pointe - Take 2
The first time I played AP my golf game was terrible. This was a redemption match. It was cold (50F) and windy so we moved up to the white tees. Great move. Fairways were large enough to accommodate a slightly errant shot but the dormant Bermuda rough was brutal. A couple of lost balls near the greens (hint: hit the greens!). It looked like the tee markers had not been moved in several days so the teeing area was a bit soggy with minimal grass - this being the only reason I deducted 1 star from a 5 star rating. Be SURE to book your reservations online - AP has an excellent tool and it sends great confirmations.
Great course
Great condition and staff is alway friendly. Pretty open fairways and greens always well maintained. Will definitely play here more often.
Beautiful course on a beautiful lake.
Reminded me of The Lanier Island course. It was in great shape. Wide fairways and large multitiered greens. Great value.
Great views on the back 9
We played this course the Friday after Thanksgiving and it was cart path only due to rain early Thanksgiving day. Usually, I'd rather walk the course when it's cart path only but that's not really an option on this course.
The primary rough is very difficult. Balls nestle down into it so much that if you are 4' off the fairway, you might not find your ball. Keep careful watch of where it goes in. Unless you are standing on top of it, you won't see it. Each player lost at least 1 ball this way.
Rough might not have been not cut lower due to moisture, but rough looked like it wasn't cut even earlier in the week. This and the wet fairways added quite a bit of distance to the 6400 yard blue tee boxes. The next lower tee is 5900 yards and would seem too short for most intermediate golfers but I would certainly consider it next time as the course easily plays 200 yards further than the card states when it's wet and the rough is as difficult as it was.
The back 9 of this course is very picturesque along the lake with many nice views. Makes the course worthwhile for the drive out to it.
Amenities are good in the clubhouse even w COVID restrictions in place.
Love playing Arrowhead Pointe GC
Great course in this beautiful state park. Wonderful layout especially the 5 or 6 lake view holes.
Excellent
Course is in great shape and was fun to play. Will return.
Arrowhead Pointe
Great golf course and great layout condition most of the time is great. Only problem is slow greens they are always slow someone wrote a review that they were 10 on the stump they have never been a 10 they are usually 7-8
I would play here a lot more if they ran at least 10.
The staff is great and course is great only negative is slow greens
Course has great views on the lake you will not be disappointed.
So quiet
Arrowhead Point is one of my favorite golf courses. Location. Location. Location. On an undeveloped lake. Well away from anything commercial. So quiet and relaxing. Never crowded. Course is well maintained. It is a Georgia State Park course. So what you get versus what you pay makes this a very high value golf experiance.
