Great Layout
Played the course on Black Friday. Course was full but still played 18 in 4 hours. Good condition, great layout with fantastic views. Only negative was half the course was cart path only with no water or seed in sight. Spent too much time reversing the cart out of fairways not marked off.
Great place to stay and play
Golf Course was great, good layout and scenery. We booked a cabin and spent the weekend. We had a blast and will be back every chance we get.
Beautiful scenery; great time.
Had a great time; very welcoming staff; beautiful lake course.
Awesome!
For me it’s right up near the top of the list as best courses played!!
Great Course
Course in great shape. Bunkers recently redone and look great. Always enjoy playing here.
Return visit
Enjoyed the course. Played the back 9 first. Would rather have played the front first. Otherwise a nice outing.
Chemizer
1st let me say Arrowhead is one of my favorite courses anywhere. The location the layout the surrounding lake and park are all fabulous and for a very affordable cost. My wife and I come 1hr from South Carolina to play as often as possible. However this was a very different experience. We we’re pared with a couple who thought this was a jogging track and wanted to play by themselves. and complained to management bc we asked them to join us as assigned a 4some. The park ranger finally explained they needed to join us or play behind to avoid being hit by golf balls.
Next we should have been advised b4 booking that construction was going on the entire course. Despite all this we were still able to enjoy our round with a very pleasant business man from Georgia and the usual friendly players ahead.
We hope the park system as other golf courses will post signs that jogging running etc is NOT ALLOWED on the golf course property. There are more than adequate roads and trails for this activity.
Very good course for a state run muni
Arrowhead Pointe is a golf course layout that is a good balance of difficulty without being unfair. The course is not terribly long at 6800 yards from the gold tees, but the course design demands accuracy as there's state forests that lie just a few yards away from the fairways on most holes. The greens were a tad slow but in great shape and as of 9/23, most of the bunkers on the course are under renovation. The new bunkers seem like they will be excellent in quality of sand. I would play this course a lot more often if it weren't for the long drive to get there, but the natural beauty of the course and its surroundings are worth the periodic trek. Generally, the course is rarely busy and pace of play is good. My twosome played 36 holes in under 8 hours.
Once the traps are completed; it will be a 5!
The course, the tees and especially the greens are in great shape. Once the traps are completed, it will be a 5. Great value for the money.
Some Bunkers Under Construction
Great course in pretty good condition. Greens in particular are in great condition. Unfortunately for now, several bunkers are under major construction and is a bit frustrating with workers in the way of shots ( not just in bunkers) and noise from equipment. Still a great course for reasonable greens fees. Definitely will be back.
5 hour round
We were not told that almost every bunker on the course was being renovated, of course we weren't told much when we checked in. The impression was given that we were interrupting the golf director's day. The rest of the course was in its usual great shape.
My rub is the 5 hours that it took to play our round. I have played here multiple times and the pace is always decent. However, this time there was a bachelor outing or a fraternity reunion or something on the course. The group behind us joined us on every tee box - we actually got to know them well, where they were from, what they did for a living, etc. This should NEVER be possible to happen while on the course. My 15-year-old son even knows that if you have a group of drinking 20-somethings, you probably need to keep an eye on them. This never happened.
What took the cake was that entire golfing party parked and stood around the 9th green watching all of their groups play that hole. This could be seen from anyone standing behind the counter in the Pro Shop (carts were parked and facing every direction), yet no one came out to say a work to them and no ranger ever took a quick trip around. After the last group played #9, they all proceeded to #10 to continue their round. This means there were now 3 open holes in front of the first group.
I am not writing this review to discourage anyone from playing here. It's a great track for every level of player. I am writing this review because everyone working at the course that day, should have known this was going to happen. I don't work at this course, but I called this fiasco while those jokers were hitting balls on the range.
