About Lanier Islands

Georgia's Lanier Islands is a 1,200-acre resort community on a string of islands on Lake Lanier an hour's drive from Atlanta. It has several lodging options, starting with a Margaritaville at Lanier Islands and The Legacy Lodge at Lanier Islands. There are also condo, villa and RV park options. The 18-hole golf course, Lanier Islands Golf Club, is a past selection of the US Golfers' Choice Top 50. Amenities at Lanier Islands beyond golf include a waterpark and beach area, marina, spa as well as multiple dining and bar concepts ranging from indoors to outdoors and beachfront.

A trip that’s worth it

The course is not on the beaten path and the greens were aerated past couple weeks. However, what a great golf experience!! The course is well worth the trip. I will definitely play again and bring friends! Great staff and pace of play!

Near perfection

The course is outstanding and the staff is amazing. What a great day on the course, conditions are near perfect, fairways are lush and cut nice; rough is growing up making it even harder and the greens are recovered nicely. This course is a great challenge with amazing beauty. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Really appreciate the great day!!!

Great experience

The staff give this place a proper resort feel. Customer service is excellent. Cool dinning area with complimentary hot dogs, chips, fountain drinks, ice cream cooler and more. Only thing you have to pay for is beer and Gatorade. The course layout is very unique. GPS unit on the cart is worthless beyond giving you a front, back and center number. Fairways and rough were excellent. The greens were way to slow for how nice everything looked. Like annoyingly slow.

Great course and experience

This is a must play course. Beautiful views, challenging layout and a lot of fun. The course is almost perfect right now. Fairways are in great shape and in another week greens will be fully recovered. Very happy I got to play here

Nice Layout!

Nice Layout, pace of play was slowwwww! Marshal didn’t get the 2 groups moving until hole 12. Staff was friendly, course is over priced and a tourist trap. Food is free in the clubhouse or included in your green fee. That is a good perc!

I would play here again if it is a tournament but other than that I am cool!

Top notch

I was skeptical at first due to the price, but is all inclusive so it now makes sense. Course was in good shape, greens are still recovering for being punched and sanded but in 2 more weeks it should be perfect. Nice layout and can be very challenging, especially from the blue tee boxes. I'll be back
