With an excellent location surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains to one side and overlooking Georgia's Great Lake on the other, Lanier Islands Legacy Golf Course provides the perfect setting for a round of golf. The diverse, rolling landscape ranges from dense forest to open meadows to pristine beaches. Water has a strong presence throughout the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. Many of them play right along the lake's shoreline. At 6,580 yards, the course is not particularly long but it is still a formidable challenge for long hitters since it requires quite a few demanding carries over the water. One of the most memorable holes for this reason is the par-4 12th, which presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity if you dare to cut the corner.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, new pro shop and clubhouse are beautiful with great concessions. The course was in great shape and scenery is gorgeous. Challenging, hilly course surrounded by water. I now want to move there

Updated clubhouse but goodbye amenities

Arrived at 8:50 for a 10am tee time. No breakfast left even though there were only about 8 cars in the parking lot. When we were at the turn at noon, there were no hot dogs and only plain turkey/cheese sandwich halves on white wrapped in plastic wrap. There was 1 piece of jalapeño pizza, no other toppings?, left in the pizza shelf.

No more water’s in the cooler or other drinks. Waters are only on the carts now. No more ice cream cooler.

The updates to the facilities are nice but it seems they are now cutting the budget back on the amenities even with the highest greens fees in the Atlanta metro area.

Thank you for your feedback. The clubhouse kitchen and bar are still under construction therefore the complimentary food and beverage items are limited at this time. We are sorry that your experience on that regard was not up to the standard expected.

We are working quickly to finish construction and bring back a wider variety of complimentary food and beverage for guests.

We would add that no specific complimentary items can be guaranteed at any time due to varying consumption levels at different times of day and day of the week.

Find somewhere else to play

I’ve played a lot of courses and a scratch golfer. This course was insanely pricey for the conditions. Seems like they’ve spent more money into their night golf course and their new pro shop than the actual course. Fairways and greens were awful and the tee boxes were worse. Paid $175 per person for what? No range and awful course conditions. Should coat $50 and I’d highly recommend playing anywhere else. Not worth the money at all

Great course, but too tough for amateur golfers

This is a beautiful course and greens are very fast, also some pin placements are almost impossible to make pars because they are in the middle of steep hills and I made a triple when I had a 10 feet birdie putt, but ended up putting 5 times because I couldn't stop the ball when I missed the put by 1 inch, and the ball kept rolling down 15 feet. But if you like tough course, this is the one for you.

Amazing Day

Course is great, staff is great, the scenes..all 10/10. Only downside is remodeling but once it’s complete I’m sure it’ll be better.

Witnessed everything you can think of today... even someone flipping a golf cart almost into the lake. So the whole day was amazing.

Fantastic course. Kept it difficult but if you play smart you really can enjoy the difficulties it sends your way from going over the water to having to hit out of tiered bunkers. Bunker sand was absolutely perfect being nice and fluffy and fairways were extremely pure.

Great course

Absolutely great course with stunning views of lake Lanier. Go on warm days and enjoy all the boats, scenery, and occasional heckler for any water balls. Perfect place to bring a significant other to ride along and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Shamrock Scramble

Played in the Shamrock Scramble Sun March 15th. While we had a good time the shape of the course was not very good.I brought out 3 buddies that had never played there and was telling them how great the course was. I have played here several times and this by far was the worse shape it has been in.The tee boxes were all sanded,several fairways were washed out and the greens were not up to par.Hopefully the warm weather will bring this course back to what it was last year.
