Against the wind
Beautiful day low 70's a great day for golf. The wind was brutal 30 to 40 miles per hour gusts great down wind but horrific into the wind really made me focus on the basics and fundamentals. Played by myself working on how to hit my new ap 2's love playing the Course especially for free. Thanks golf pass plus. Will be back soon.
Nice track with one goofy hole
Fun track with one poorly designed hole. I think it was #3,, par 4 over water with basically no landing area.except for a couple of fairway bunkers if you did not want to go for the green
It was very windy when we played (45 mph gusts) so going for green was not an option.
Other that that is was a nicely laid out and fun course. I will come back on a less win day day.
The course plays next to Lake Lanier so has very many beautiful lake views and forced carry’s over water but most of them are fair and manageable
Fun Course With Great Views
We played on a Sunday afternoon and the pace of play was great. We were all in our own carts so it sped up the pace a little. The course was really fun and most of the holes were on the water. The greens were in great shape, smooth and well taken care of. Fairways had some rough spots. We paid $65, which is probably at the higher end for what I would pay at this course. Would recommend to anyone who likes a challenge off the tee.
Super fun and challenging course
I would recommend this course To anyone because it has a unique location, beautiful scenery and It is a fun challenge from any tee box. The complimentary snacks and range balls are great. Every course over $40 a round should mirror. Instead of forking over $40+ then pay $2 for a snickers, $2.50 for a soda and then $5 for range balls. This is why around $60 this course is great in my opinion. However, when compared to the abundant courses in the area that are also great and in great shape the price here has gotten out of control lately ($80, $90, $100+). $40-$65 is the true range for the value of this course. It’s great but not a TPC course. Maybe this course isn’t for the everyday golfer anymore but you should at least play it once a year. Instead of weekly like we have in the past. Enjoy!
Beauitful and challenging
Course was more challenging than usual due to the wet and muddy condition. I still enjoyed the great course layout and beauty.
Excellent Value, Definitely Recommend
Things have changed a little with the Corona Virus, but I was super glad to just be able to get out and play golf on a great course.
Usually, they meet you at your car in the parking lot to take your clubs for you. However, due to Corona Virus (social distancing) you go get your own cart out front. They are always doing what they can to make the entire experience gun and enjoyable. They have the empty carts out front now so you can get a cart and go to your car and load your clubs.
I played by myself today (they allow you to play alone due to the Corona Virus) in order so you do not have to pair up with strangers. Obviously they still allow 2, 3 or 4 somes to play. I love that the range balls are included in the greens fees, as well as is bottled water, soda, sandwiches, snacks and cookies. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The practice area is nice (the range is currently bare of grass, the practice area is still great.
Course was in good shape for as much rain as we have received over the prior three weeks. The only drawback is that some of the tee boxes are really bare and almost all dirt (#2, #5) Greens are rolling smooth and true. The greens were a little shaggy and slower than usual due to so much rain the mowers have not been able to cut the greens in a few days. The greens are a real challenge as they have lots of slopes, undulations, humps and subtle breaks.
This course is always a true challenge and a stern test of golf. The views are what makes this course what it is. 14 of the 18 holes are right along the banks of Lake Lanier. There are several tee shots which you have to hit over the lake which makes it even that much more fun and enjoyable. Hitting multiple shots over Lake Lanier is hard to beat. Legacy on Lanier is truly one of the best, if not the VERY BEST public courses in the Atlanta area. I have played a ton of the courses in and around Atlanta. I have played here several times and will continue to play every chance I get.
I highly recommend Legacy on Lanier. You will not be disappointed. The value for the money is unprecedented.
Wonderful Legancy
Staff are outstanding. Course is beautiful. Pace of play is awesome.
Great Experience, Definitely Recommend
9:30am tee time on a Monday, played by myself. They brought a golf cart to my car when I pulled up and took my clubs to the practice facility. Simple clubhouse and the staff is very friendly. Free food, water and soft drinks in the dining area. Range balls included with the greens fees. Teed off a bit early and didn't catch up to anyone. Course was in great shape despite some rain. Greens are rolling smooth and quick. A challenging layout. The views are what makes this course what it is. Hitting multiple shots over Lake Lanier is hard to beat. One of the best fully public courses I have played. I have played here several times and will continue to. Definitely recommend.
Legacy at Lanier
I first played this course back in the early 1990s when I moved to Atlanta. This course had closed and the next one around the lake remained open. Now they switched and this course is open again and the course past the water park has closed. This course has 13 of 18 holes either over or around water. Very playable layout with some challenging holes for carrying over water and placement of the drive. The staff is pleasant and courteous yet keeping a good pace of play. This is one of my favorite Atlanta courses.
This course requires trained.
This course and green are very difficult.
Need strategic and technic.
Fairway many layout exceeds pond and green wave seems like potato chips.
We have to prepare many golf ball.
We had better to prepare use balls.
If you play do with this course , I think that seen thing l said that.
Difficult but fair
CPO, from yesterday's rain slowed it down a bit, and some tight lies as cooler weather is starting. Greens were very fast and rolled nicely. Good practice facility and the clubhouse amenities are the cherry on the sundae. Very enjoyable.
